Resident 2009

7/28/2009

My husband an I lived here for 5 years. We had our daughter when we first moved in, and had another child while we were there. Plus my step daughter would come on weekends. We didn't have any problems in the beginning. Then things started to go down hill. They were more worried about what the outside looked like than the inside. Always doing something new. The inside of the apartments are literally falling apart. we had a ton of mold. we actually had to have the maintenance guy come up 3 or 4 times to take care of it. i even have pics of all of it. there was a huge hole by our window from the mold. all they did was come up and fill everything with caulking. my oungest daughter actually got pneumonia from it. she was in the hospital and had to have a spinal tap done. all the doctors and nurses said that it was for sure caused from the mold. i had pics that i showed them and they couldn't believe it. our dishwasher broke as well so they brought up a new one for us. it worked for about a month and a half. from then on we had to do our dishes by hand. ever time we would run the dishwasher our dishes were full of black stuff. they finally found out that it was coming off the pipes in the dishwasher. they told us to run about 5 times in a row and it should be fixed. well we did that, and still were not able to fix it. our carpet when we moved in was so gross. it had bleach stains and red stains all over it. along with cigarette burns all over it. they told us it would be changed and the day we moved in it was not changed at all. we had to wait 4 years to get new carpet. they said they change the carpet every years. so i have little kids who were crawling all over that disgusting floor. i would have to put blankets down just so they could crawl. we finally got new carpet and that was great. all though after a week it looked so gross, because it was the cheap carpet. it was all matted down in the main areas we walked. i would vacuum every day and that still didn't matter. i had one of my friends move in there. she was in my same building. when you are signing your lease they tell you that if you have any signs of mold you are supposed to report it right away. well my girlfriend left a glass of water on the counter for one night. she woke up the next morning and there was a film over it. so she did it again that night to see if it would happen again. it did. she told the management and they never even came up. she has asthma really bad and she started having problems breathing and she got very sick. she ended up in the hospital for a night, because she had bronchitis so bad. she also talked to the doctors about this and they told her it was probably caused from the mold. so when she was finally able to come home she told the management again, and they still never came up. when we were having the mold problem in our apt i had to actually call the city and report the office. then all of a sudden that day i had a letter put in my door saying they would be up the next day to fix the problem. the maintenance guy came up and took the whole window sill out and replaced it with a white plastic one. he then said to me "we are giving you plastic now, because if the mold comes back you can just wash it right off." i just couldn't believe it. we also had some crazy lady living down stairs form us. she came to our door 3 times to complain about our noise level. mind you, we lived here at this time for a little over 4 years. we had never once had single noise complaint. then the last time she came up she was raising her voice to my 5 year old daughter. she then told me to spray my kids with vinegar and spank them for being to loud. it was all because we would walk down the hallway. when you walk down the hallway it creaks really bad. when she said that i immediately sat down and typed up a note to lindsay about this. (the manager) the very next night i opened my freezer and some steak fell out and hit the floor. it was about 20 minutes later i had the cops at my door. i explained everything that was going on, and they literally just shook their heads and walked away. i then had the cops called on me again about a week later. the lady had told the cops we were running around. when the cops came to my door my kids had been napping for about an hour and a half. i had fallen asleep on the couch. the cops were so mad about this. i finally called lindsay up and talked to her about it. she wanted us to get together adn have a meeting with these people. i said absolutely not. so luckily we were moving out VERY soon after that. lindsay never once did anything to this lady. all she told her was that if she thought we were being to loud to contact lindsay and she would come to her apt, and listen for herself. after that nothing ever happened. i just hate the way the management and the maintenance tae care of things out there. the new care taker was amazing. she was pregnant and almsot due,k but you still always saw her outside working. linddsay was never there half the time anyways. there is always signs up saying that the office will be closed all these days. it is ridiculous. so i will NEVER EVER recommend anyone to ever live there again. getting out of there was the best thing we ever did for our family. so if i were reading this message no here, i would REALLY listen to it, and don't take the chances of having to deal with what we had to.
