Furthermore, all residents sign a Crime Free/Drug Free Lease Addendum as part of their lease packet at move in. Our management team handles lease violations in accordance with the law. Thank you for taking the time to post your concerns regarding this incident that did occur at the property. We really do appreciate your thoughtful consideration of things we might do better. We absolutely understand that this was a scary and unsettling situation for those who were home and for those who arrived home to see the police presence. We want to acknowledge your frustration about the process surrounding investigation and resolution. The logistics behind the incident are still under investigation – we cannot make snap judgements on what we think happened; we need to let the police continue their investigation. We are working side-by-side with Eagan Police assisting them in any way possible to ensure the correct people are held accountable for this crime. Regarding our screening process, all of our prospective residents must meet the same qualifications and guidelines to become a resident here with us. The process we use must comply with the Federal Fair Housing Act and all of the areas of our operations affected by the law. If our screening qualifications are met by potential residents, we are happy to extend residency to all those that qualify. Additionally, during anyone's residency there are rules and regulations that are clearly outlined in the lease – should a resident violate the lease agreement there is a standard protocol that has to be followed before an eviction can be issued. Our lease and these procedures must comply with the Federal Fair Housing Act, all local ordinances, and current in-place restrictions imposed by federal agencies due to the Covid pandemic. Please know that we are taking this situation very seriously and our entire team here at Lemay Lake is determined to not let this incident define our beautiful community. I reviewed your comments and sincerely appreciate the time you have invested to bring this to our attention. As I'm sure you are aware, we have experienced an uptick in crime across the Twin Cities metro area, not just in Eagan. In response to this, we hired a private security company that has been patrolling our parking lots and underground garages at night. In addition to this, we have enhanced our cameras, installed extra door hardware, and have partnered with the Eagan Police Department as members of their Multifamily Taskforce. The safety of our residents is of utmost importance to us, and we are open to any further comments, suggestions, and feedback related to this topic. If there are outstanding maintenance concerns, I would kindly ask for you to email me directly so that I can investigate and expedite the appropriate repair. If our skilled team of Maintenance Technicians cannot handle the job, we have many vendor partners that are able to step in and assist, from HVAC, to electricity, and plumbing. Emma,Thank you for your feedback. It is our goal to provide our residents with the best living experience possible, and I apologize that you feel your experience with us has not met your expectations. As a manager, it is my goal to make sure everyone's apartment is ready for move-in day. This involves painting, carpet cleaning, professional cleaning, and maintenance. It sounds like your apartment didn't meet this standard, and for that I take full responsibility. I will use this feedback to continue to train our team and smooth out operations where needed. The theft of your motorcycle was such an unfortunate situation. We are fully cooperating with the police investigation and have reviewed our camera footage. The uptick in crime over the past several months in the Twin Cities area has been challenging. We continue to communicate openly with residents, have increased building security, and have hired a private security company for evening patrols of our parking lots and underground garages. Despite these added measures, challenges still remain that, at times are difficult to remedy. We will try our very best to come to decisions that are best for all parties. We value your residency at Lemay Lake Apartment Homes, and are sorry to hear that your experience hasn't lived up to your expectations. We appreciate the time you took to bring some of your concerns to our attention in order that we may always strive to improve. Two weeks ago, we had all of the hallway carpet professionally cleaned. If problem areas still remain, please let us know and we will have the area touched-up again. You may be happy to hear that we will be adding fob access to the front doors of all of the buildings very soon. This will eliminate the need for key entry, and will cut down on the wear and tear on the locks. In the meantime, we will make sure that our maintenance team is checking and servicing the locks more often. With the addition of the new clubhouse building, we did have to remove the existing playground; however we are finalizing plans to have a new playground installed at the south end of outdoor pool. The kids have been missing the playground, and we hope to have a new one installed in September. We are always looking for ways to enhance the living experience for our dog owners, and will take your suggestions into consideration. Related to the theft of property, we definitely share in your disappointment in these incidents. We do ask that residents refrain from storing valuables in the underground garages, and have offered storage lockers as an alternative. Our cameras are operational, but do not cover all areas of our expansive buildings and garages. We would be more than happy to address any additional concerns you have, and especially tend to those items related to the interior of your apartment (bathtub resurfacing, register covers, and outlets). A meeting or call will allow me the opportunity to ensure that going forward, we can improve your living experience at Lemay Lake.
