Yes you read correct, I lived at Royal Oaks for 13 years and would likely still be living there if I hadn't been transferred out east. It was the perfect place to land after a divorce, the split 2BR/2bath was a great layout for myself and two kids.
The location couldn't be better, walking distance to restaurants, grocery stores, the library, plus there's a great hike just down Federal Drive at Black Hawk Lake. The landscaping is beautiful, it's just a great place to come home to and super safe to go for a walk at night. The pool is in a beautiful location surrounded by trees, workout room could be bigger but I rarely used it.
The apartments are nice, great having a washer/dryer in the unit, love the underground heated parking. Negatives are floors on the thin side but you'll only notice if you have a heavy footed upstairs neighbor, go with a 3rd floor unit if possible. Also they rent to younger college students but tend to keep them concentrated, suggest asking about who your neighbors will be prior to signing a lease.
All in all I loved my years at Royal Oaks. The management has changed over the years but all have been super friendly and helpful, maintenance is really good too.
