Resident 2010 - 2020

11/6/2020

When I came in 2010 I was very happy to have a nice apartment and beautiful setting (wooded surroundings), I felt it had a good sense of community such as fun parties for the kids at Halloween with games and candy and catered chicken dinner for all , Christmas they held free gift wrapping and Santa for the little ones. You knew the staff and maintenance. Approximately 3 years ago Thomas Lake was bought by Nationwide, that's when sense of community was wiped out and any Tom ---- or Harry showed up at your door for maintenance. One guy had to come after hours for my plugged up toilet and I could smell booze on his breath and he never cleaned up after himself. He left a muddy floor from his shoes and he gave me the creeps. Rent is extremely high and trust me Nationwide is NOT on your side. Keep looking, you'll find much cheaper rent elsewhere.

    Resident 2013

    6/14/2013

I am writing because of the large increase in rent. When I moved in the rent was manageable but then came the HUGE rent increase of 20%. I realize that rent increase is going to happen but 20% is ALOT. I know it is due to a lot of people having to rent because they have lost there homes and now need to rent so the rental market is huge right now. I just don't think it is fair or morally right to take advantage of people when they are already struggling. I do have to say that the staff is very good and maintenance is prompt and reliable. I doubt I will be able to stay and it is very hard to keep moving because of the huge increases. You just get settled and then you have to pick up and move. I have asked people who are moving out what the reason is and they all have said it is because of the huge rent increases. A lot of the apartments are vacant for months and if they had just kept the rent increases smaller they would have kept people renting. Just beware that if you move here you could love it but have to move because of the HUGE rent increases!
