This is hands down one of the best rental communities I've had the luck to live in. How satisfied you'd be here depends on your needs - if you're looking for a hip place with lots of energy and proximity to everything, then perhaps this isn't for you. But if you're looking for a quiet little community rife with wildlife and natural scenery, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of everything without being too far removed... well, then this is pretty great. If you're a bit of a naturalist, you'll see a myriad of birds here, as well as woodlife such as deer, rabbits, a wild turkey, and maybe even a coyote who wandered too far from the nearby marshy areas. Insofar as my unit goes, the floorplan is spacious and open. Natural light floods in through the patio door (depending a bit on what direction you face). The kitchens have plenty of cabinet space and open up into the dining/living rooms. Some of the appliances and cabinets show their age, but they work and they're not unattractive. When I moved in, I had an older stove (analog clock!), which was replaced during my first year here. Attached garage and in-unit washer/dryer help make my unit feel more like an independent home than a unit in a townhouse building (one of four). For what it's worth, I've never heard my neighbors. Never. Seriously. Not once in two years. Only if they're out on their patio and I have my windows open. Otherwise, this is an incredibly quiet, peaceful environment. Units were also re-sided and re-roofed a year ago, which made an impact on my heating bill. Management is outstanding. Understand coming here that there are some limitations to what's possible - the front office is a tad short-staffed, but Darla goes above and beyond to do everything she can. She's prompt and communicative and has always helped me out - but I bring my issues to her promptly and realize that it might take a day or two if it's not urgent. The pilot light blew out on my furnace one windy Saturday night this winter; she came over on her off-hours to relight it for me. As far as maintenance goes, it's contracted to a fellow off-site - he's a nice guy, but again, if it's not an urgent matter, you'll be subject to his schedule and availability. That said, I've never had an issue that wasn't resolved within a day - this includes things such as a washer that wouldn't engage it's spin cycle and a dead garbage disposal. In short, I don't know of a better place to live in the Twin Cities area if you're looking for peace and quiet and a bit of nature. Given the price and the amenities, I haven't found a better deal anywhere else, but I also don't need to - I love it here. I've been here since 2013 and plan to continue to be here until I start a family and want a house. And even then, I see plenty of tenants happily raising kids here.
