Hopkins Park Plaza

March 2018 these Apartements have a completely new manager and caretakers. Mary the manager has cleaned this place up like brand new. Half the people were evicted because the buildings are now smoke free (and completely drug free with zero tolerance). I agree with the other one older review- as long as your expectations are managed. (FWIW, I am a 40-year old single female with a dog and no outstanding legal issues or bad credit.. I just live here because it's convenient.) Pros: week-to-week rental, small deposit, no credit check, pets are totally OK, there is a clean empty grassy lot next door not fenced that is city owned to use for your dog walks, clean buildings and laundry facilities, nice neighbors, ample parking. No bugs or anything that I've seen. Have never felt unsafe here by any means - the neighborhood is quiet and fine. Super convenient to 169, Hwy 7, Excelsior Blvd, and downtown Hopkins. Everything is paid for--heat, electric, water, local phone, cable TV and internet and all of the newly moved into apartments have new flooring as of summer 2018. Cons: rent is high for what you get (a TINY studio), the furnishings are older, the walls are very thin (can hear neighbor's TV), parking lots aren't maintained too well in the winter. Cable internet is not BLAZING fast, but it's perfectly adequate for Netflix, etc. Maintenance staff are neither friendly nor awful, but seem to do their job adequately and fix things when they are broken. All in all I recommend this place if you are willing to pay a premium for convenience and don't need to live in a fancy castle! :)
