Resident 2009

12/28/2009

I'm a current resident, and we too were harassed since day one. We received three letters suck in our door about "violations" like having a bike, a sled, and some potted plants on our deck (gasp! The horror!). When we moved in, the young lady that was to process us in gave us the wrong set of keys, made us wait an hour and a half while she found the right ones, then failed to take our pet deposit before brushing us off for an apartment showing. She also failed to inform us about the garage stalls being assigned, rather than park-where-you-like as the outdoor parking lot is. This resulted in another letter and "violation" for both the pet deposit (which we immediately paid) and utilizing the incorrect garage stall. The harassment stopped after we wrote a 4 page letter to corporate (Bigos) detailing the harassment and general lack of professionalism and inability to talk to tenants face-to-face. Since then we have only had to contact the office for maintenance, which has been another nightmare. The shelving that was put up was not anchored, resulting in them tearing out of the walls in the middle of the night. The new maintenance guy seems wholly incapable of the most minor of repairs. The arms that the shelves rested on were bent when they tore from the wall. Captain Wow the maintenance man installed the same bent, brittle arms back into the fixture UPSIDE DOWN. He also failed to anchor them, and decided that installing them a quarter inch below the original, unpatched holes where they previously resided would be a great idea. After calling the office and having him come back to fix his repairs, he left everything where it was, but he installed a side-to-side anchor for the shelf to give it a new place to rip drywall out. This happened once in the hall closet and once more in the mud room. As of today we still have about 1/2 of our lease left, and I'm alternating my gaze between my non-functional microwave that needs replacement (but Master Maintenance is off right now, and he couldn't be bothered to move a few boxes of tea and a small bag of nori to get it over with, so we will be having an exciting time figuring out dinner, I assure you), and the parking lot that is SLICKED with, and I'm not kidding, an INCH of ice. I had to take a couple of runs getting up the slight incline to park my car this afternoon. There's no salt to be seen, no sand, no nothing. But they sure as heck are willign to tow my car tomorrow if it isn't moved so they can make sure the ice is free of snow. And that brings me to my final point: No parking. At all. Regardless of the reasons, there are never any parking spaces, and when they want to repave the lot or plow it, they expect you to park elsewhere. The problem is that THERE IS NO WHERE ELSE TO PARK. The streets are no-parking, the bowling alley across the street will tow you if you so much as look at their parking spaces, and the clinic will do the same. There is literally no where to park when they want to fiddle with the lot. DO NOT COME HERE.
