Resident 2012

9/29/2012

I have lived here at Regency Woods since May of 2012. I moved into building two and now live in building five. There are six buildings here. The setting is very nice aawith mature trees, trails, ponds with fountain, tennis courts, beautiful clubhouse, excellent workout facility with all brand new equipment and a movie room. All apartment buildings are getting updated on their exterior as well as all apartments are getting cherry cabinets and stainless steel appliances. There have been many landscaping updates as well. I first moved into a one bedroom which was on the front side of my building and right above a chain smoker. I found the location to be noisy with lots of coming and going and loud rude talkers late at night outside the building as they would come home around bar closing time. This was not an everyday occurrence but it happened enough to be note worhty. There were also vehicles that would drive up to the front door and load or off load their vehicles to save time. This of course isn't all the time, but on the front side of the building it is just a little more noisy than I care for. When I first moved in the rental agent said that management was thinking about going smoke free. As of late September management here told me that the complex will not be going smoke free at least at this point. The inside of my apartment was beautiful and done with cherry cabinets and stainless steel appliances too. I wish they would have put in a new bathtub, lavatory sink and carpet, but it was very nice I must say. After five months here, I lost my job and so had to downsize to a less expensive studio apartment. The management was very easy to deal with and I felt that they wanted me to stay. They worked with me and got me into a studio on the top floor and backside of building five which is a lot more quiet. I have to say that it would be nice to have more sound proof doors and am told that this is supposed to be done by December of 2012. Currently the management is upgrading the inside and outside of all buildings and apartments which is expected to be done at years end, I'm told. There are some buildings that allow dogs so you have to ask about that. Cats are allowed and you'll have to check on pet rent and deposit for them. I have looked at many apartments and have found these are very nice, with lots of amenities in a great location. Yes, I think they are expensive, but everything I looked at was expensive also. Seems the higher the rent the less riff raff you get. If I have any suggestions for improvement it is to get the tennis court lights working for night time play, start an email tenant list to do information emails to keep communications immediate and to cut down on paper that is used as well as manpower to produce the hand delivered flyers to each door, also, put up gates on either side of the sidewalks at the front of the buildings so that foot traffic can pass through but vehicles would not be able to. This would limit the noise at front of buildings and increase the livability factor for those residents who live on the front of the buildings. I am very satisfied with their new management and leasing agents as well as their maintenance team. I have found them all to be kind, interested in helping, genuinely concerned about me and my situation, and responsive to my needs. I highly recommended Kim, Chayla, Kayla, Tony and Regency Woods for your next place to live.
