Resident ā€¢ 2013

3/4/2013

I have lived at Grandeville for about 7 months. I live in the "Aspen" 1 bed/1bath apartment, and it is very spacious with a well-designed layout. I love the open-ness of the living area, and I really appreciate having a laundry room and attached garage. So convenient! It is also very quiet, I have never once heard my neighbors underneath or next to me. The staff is very nice and know myself and my dog by name, despite only seeing us occasionally. The apartments are also adjacent to the Mayo employee West shuttle lot, so it is very convenient to just be able to walk a few minutes, hop on the shuttle, and be at work. The apartments are also right next to the entrance to the Cascade Lake trail, which connects to other trail throughout Rochester. I have had to call maintenance twice, and both times, they were here within 1-2 hours of my call, for things that definitely could have waited a day or two. Very impressive. Although I love living here, there are also a few "cons", the most important one being price. With the added $25 pet rent, I pay $1305 per month for my 1 bedroom apartment. This does NOT include utilities, gas, or cable/internet. I am also charged every few months for garbage pickup. It is extremely expensive, and I really do feel "house poor", so unfortunately I will have to move when my lease is up. But if you are able to shell out the money to afford living here, it is a great place to live and I would definitely recommend it!
