Resident 2010 - 2013

4/17/2013

It's a dump. The buildings are old and poorly maintained because the owners (Mike, Rick and Amanda) do NOT care about any aspect of the property. It was up for sale a few years ago so they let the maintenance lapse and whattya know, the deal fell through. Now they just don't care. Minor maintenance issues are typically handled in a timely fashion now that Tom is taking care of things, but things like appliances or major repairs take weeks or months to fix because the owners won't come out of pocket a plug nickel to fix anything. It used to be a great spot on the lake, but the owners only care about money now and treat their clients/tenants like rap. Good luck getting a return phone call from Amanda (leasing agent/owner) unless you have check in your hand. They don't screen tenants and allow section 8. If you've got money, they love ya. Once they have your money, they forget your name. I moved in a few years back because of the docks and lake access. I thought for a while it was nice until reality set in. The yard was ok then but is just a pile of dog and goose poop (25-70 geese in the yard {grazing and pooping} PER DAY, ALL DAY in the summer. No lie.) The lawnmower they use is the only dilapidated John Deere i've ever seen, which is fitting considering their lack of maintenance across the board. The docks are inaccessible by boat when the lake is down even 8" because they've been filled in and overcrowded by the weeds and muck. You can NOT swim in the channel from any point on the property because its a swamp. The swimming 'pool' is an unheated, never covered, concrete hole in the ground surrounded by broken concrete slabs and a rusty chain link fence. It's really, really bad. It's an extra $50/month to park in a garage like structure or in the under ground 'ramp' which is more like a dungeon than a garage. Every time it rains and all spring long while the snow melt, the garge ceilings and walls leak horribly, leaching concrete lye, salt, and oil from the cars parked above, all over the cars in the 'garage'. You're better off staying outside. Did I mention docks are an extra 1,500 to 3K per season? Ya. The docks are open to rent to anyone, including non-tenants, so expect noisy parties all weekend long in the summer. They are horribly maintained and boards are constantly blowing out, and go weeks without being fixed or cordoned off (safety tape or barricade). walkways are narrow and dangerous. I have seen several people fall off and land in the jagged sharp rocks, suffering lacerations and bruising. It's a miracle they didn't get sued (yet). The whole place is a disaster. Sure it's cheaper but thats what you get. Cheap and terrible. Especially bad is the attitude of the ownership. They do not care a single bit about any of their tenants. Money money money is all they want and don't put any back in to better the place (or even meet code standards). The carpet in the halls is easily 20 years old, the the units havent been updated or re-carpeted since '82, and the whole build smells like farts and weed. Avoid at all costs. They're still shopping buyers for the property and won't spend a dime on this place the state doesn't force them to.
