Resident 2003 - 2006

8/21/2006

We lived here for three years. Altogether it was fine- cheap, close to campus, spacious and quiet. The building was old, maintenance was not very responsive or good. We were supposed to have a new carpet and kitchen floor before we moved in, and we never got them. Several things never worked or needed to be replaced and never were despite numerous requests. We didn't mind that so much though.

Be aware that this place has a LOT of mold. I received a brown recluse spider bite here and have seen others around at night. We never had a roach problem, but right before we moved had a big fat mouse in our kitchen, which was living in the walls. We caught it but that is NASTY.

I'll agree that the landlady is not the nicest. But she's o.k. if you follow the rules and if she decides she likes you. I can imagine that tangling with her would not be fun.

Utilities are expensive. We paid about $100/month and didn't run the air at night during the summer.

So if you want a cheap place to live that's not roach infested and is quiet and spacious, it's not bad. Just be aware that it has problems.
