Resident 2012 - 2013

4/23/2013

I subleased Campus lodge over the summer because I had already signed my lease for the fall and I immediately hated everything about it. I moved in to my apartment over the summer and there were spiders everywhere. I moved my bed to clean and I found 5-10 sacs filled with spider eggs. A month into my lease the ceiling in my bathroom cracked and water spilled through, which maintenance claimed was because of the person above me showering.... How comforting. Moving into my new apartment for the fall was even worse. You pay all of Augusts rent even though you move in on the 16th because they use the difference to have the apartment cleaned and I was appalled. My door was covered in a soda spill, there were short black hairs (absolutely not mine) all over the room and bathroom, and I'm still finding them in random places now, my carpet was dirty and the crappy fake linoleum tiles are coming up off the floor. If anything happens to the TV you have to pay 1000 dollars to replace it even though it isn't remotely worth 200, and the maintenance staff takes their sweet time unless its something serious (like my ceiling). The furniture is hideous and uncomfortable and nothing like the model. They are lazy with roommate matching and just stick random people together, and the living/kitchen space is way too small for four people, my roommates and I are constantly bumping into each other. The staff is lazy and not helpful. If you get a package, they'll say they don't have it yet just because they don't feel like looking for it. You really couldn't pay me to live here and there are MUCH better choices in Columbia.
