Resident ā€¢ 2011 - 2012

9/6/2012

Great maintenance, great amenities, and fair prices if you can get them in a good month. Now for the bad: -Employees of Cityplace watched a guy hit my parked car on St. Patrick's Day, knowing that the car belonged to one of their residents, and let him drive away. They had a security patrol car on duty, yet didn't call him. I was ten feet away in my apartment, and they could have looked up my license plate and phone number to call me and have me deal with the problem, yet didn't. The scratch was on the passenger side of my car, and I had to be told about it four days later by a Cityplace employee, in passing. He said, "Oh hey, did you know some guy hit your car?!" When I complained that there was a little bit of responsibility following on her employees, the Cityplace manager was incredibly rude and cold even though neither of us had been there, she claimed that the guy didn't actually hit my car. When I started to cry, she said she would look into the matter further and get back to me. She hasn't, and it's been 6 months. -My roommate and I were told by our leasing representative of Cityplace that all Cityplace residents had special permission to park in a business dedicated parking lot next to our apartment. We did, until my roommate's car was towed. Hundreds of dollars later, when she investigated with the business' building manager, he told her he had rescinded his invitation and had let Cityplace management know weeks earlier that he would start towing. They never passed along the message, and took no responsibility for the towing. In fact, the same girl who told us we could park there, denied saying so. -We have been asking for releasing prices for over a month-- my roommate and I both-- for a total of at least 10 requests. We are required to let them know by tomorrow if we are going to move out (60-day mark) or resign and we still have not received the new prices. --We can frequently hear our neighbors above us, and have asked management to respectfully let them know how loud they are being. They said they would several times. It got to the point that we went and talked to the neighbors ourselves, who said that cityplace had never let them know. Besides these large problems, the attitude of the women that are the faces of Cityplace, and that I live above frequently give such sour attitude and sulky resistance at the slightest request. Such as, "Will you please check to see if I have a package?". For the first 8 months of living here, I was told, "well did you get a note saying you had a package?" The answer was always "No. Please check anyway." Because in the 15 months of living here I'VE NEVER ONCE RECEIVED A NOTE, and yet somehow, had 30 packages over that time. It's not pleasant to have to apologize for asking someone to do their job, and feel like you are bugging them. It's also hard to take one of these employees seriously since she has moved in with my neighbor, and frequently wears booty shorts in our shared hallway. The issues are simply a lack of professionalism, communication, cooperation, responsibility, respect of time, money, property, and service. Good luck.
