Mansion House Apartments
Resident · 2006 - 2008
I have lived here for a year and a half and overall, I have been very happy. The apartments are all getting renovated, and are being updated to stainless steel appliances and upscale design. Of course, the rent is going way up for those. I live in an older apartment and am still very happy. The appliances are somewhat older, but they work great and I have no complaints. I did live in a different apartment when I first moved in but had a serious bug problem. The management was very nice about it and sprayed it numerous times. When it was apparent that it was a more serious problem they switched me apartments and closed that one until it was completely pest free. I am only a couple floors away and I don t have that problem any more. There was no dishwasher in the apartment I was in, but this one has one. Just make sure that the amenities that you want are actually in the apartment you are getting. This shouldn t be an issue in the renovated ones. One big complaint is that the AC is never freezing and the heat is always hot (even on the coolest setting). That may just be because of the age of the building, but you don t pay for AC or heat, so you can t complain too much. Also the units are really quiet (I never ever hear neighbors except if I walk down the hallway as I pass their unit). Construction noise is occasionally heard as is the highway noise from 70, but it s not too bad. The laundry room is huge with 14ish washers and maybe 10 dryers. Best part? Laundry is free. Parking is fine. The garage always has spots (even on big game days) and I have never felt panicked or overly scared in there. I have never seen any shady characters either. (I am a single young female). Just be smart about it and you shouldn t have any problems. The security CONSTANTLY drives around on golf carts and I always see them. I think it helps a lot. The workout room is really nice. They have a bunch of cardio machines (at least 7) and a big weight room with free weights and a lot of machines. It is never packed and open 24 hours a day with 2 plasma TVs in there with the remotes. They also have a club room with a plasma, library, sitting rooms, pool table, and foosball. The building hosts monthly parties there or on the rooftop pool for the residents. The parties are always really nice with lots of food, drinks, and neighbors. All in all, Mansion House is an expensive place to live, but the views are wonderful, the people are nice, and you can t beat the location. I would recommend it for anyone who works downtown or wants to be in the thick of downtown as many bars and restaurants are within walking distance.
