Pretty Good Place to Live
Mansion House is a pretty good place to live. The staff is overall very friendly, especially the doormen/women. The maintenance is phoenomenal, their best response time to a request was 4 minutes. They were also always friendly and would listen and make sure the problem was fixed. We lived in an updated riverview unit. These have amazing views of the arch and the river. From what we saw of the unrenovated units, make sure you get the reno'd ones. They have a tastefully updated kitchen. Ours looked brand new when we moved in. We almost never heard any of our neighbors. except for occasional construction. I-70 however, is very loud, although you tune it out after awhile. Don't bother with a balcony, because it is not pleasant to sit on it with the road noise. The units have water heating/cooling systems, which aren't terribly effective, and are placed right in front of the windows, which can hamper viewing and furniture arrangement. Get a fan or two for summer, and wear your sweater in the winter. The laundry facilities are great, they replaced all the machines as of mid 2010. High efficiency, clean facility, and free! The pool and viewing deck are nice, but it closes at 9 or so in season, and isn't open long enough during the year. The neighborhood is close to Washington and Laclede's Landing, two nightspots and dining locations. Culinaria is your best walkable grocery, which has most things. MH is easy to get to from the highways, which is nice for commutes. The parking is pretty good, and it felt secure and was almost always easy to get a good space. The parking decks are looking a little worse for the wear, in some spots you can see through to the next deck down. They do appear to be making repairs though. Overall, I would recommend it, bearing in mind the road noise and weird heating and cooling.Share This Review
