Resident 2019 - 2020

11/19/2020

A converted hat factory in downtown to loft living with high ceilings, awesome amenities and natural light overlooking the arch, just a short walk to the bars and restaurants on Washington, the St. Louis arch (gateway to the west!) and Cardinals and Blues games, sounds great….and it was…for a time… Monogram has great potential and they were doing good until there was a management change and then things went down hill pretty fast. While you typically can't hear your neighbors above and below you due to the concrete floors (covered by laminate) You can hear your neighbors through the vents and through the thin drywall barriers separating the units. You will notice that most of the residents are new because the prior residents left due to the changes that monogram has undergone, many of which broke their lease to get out (just a large portion of 5th and 6th floors). When you move in they probably won't tell you about the roof that burnt down, or if they do they will call it an "accident", they won't tell you about the problems with underage non-residents in the pool when the roof was actually open, they won't tell you about the shooting that happened on the 7th floor into the bathroom and sleep quarters of unit 703, they won't tell you about the multiple robberies at gunpoint at the Fields foods on the first floor and they won't tell you about the residents that have been robbed at gunpoint on their property or the residents that have been threatened on their property. They won't tell you about the 7/11 that was burned down just down the street or how CS gas and smoke wafted into open windows with the unrest in the area. What they will tell you is that there are quite hours and its smoke free, but there aren't really quite hours and the place is anything but smoke free, so If that's your jam you found a place, if not I'd keep looking. The front office is typically closed and locked due to COVID-19 however them answering email is like roulette you never really know if you're going to get an answer. If there are issues with safety they will tell you to call the police, the police will call it a "peace disturbance" on Monograms property and say it is Monograms responsibility. My recommendation is to stay away until management changes.
