Where to start? They sure sold me on the place during the tour. But I soon learned that the management really only cares about prospective tenants, not the people actually living here.

In the two years I lived here (yes, I gave them a second chance on a second year), there has been constant construction within the building. Everything looks half-done: the lobby, the halls, the painting, the gym, everything. I'd say that one positive is that I can't hear my neighbors, but if you are home anytime between eight and four during the day, expect to hear drilling and pounding so loud that you cannot watch television. The demolition was so bad that it broke dishes because of the vibration. They touted the new, fast elevators when I moved in. Twenty months later and they've only got one in. Now the other one is closed. One working elevator for about 200 apartments.

The maintenance staff is slow and rude. They have a service elevator but choose to use the tenant elevator as well. I had two instances where my apartment was entered by staff with absolutely no notice for non-emergency issues. They even watched TV in my apartment. The water is shut off weekly for "emergency" maintenance. Pipes leak water and the radiators leak steam, making the apartments stink. And broken appliances are replaced with slightly less broken appliances, while the brand-new equipment goes into the empty remodeled apartments. I had an A/C unit that was so inefficient that my electric bill was $150 for a one-bedroom. Management still refused to give me a new one.

I could go on forever. If you come by this apartment and get the tour, don't be fooled by the shiny elevator or brand-new display apartment. They blow money on making the place "modern" with new furniture and ridiculous artwork out front. Meanwhile cars are being broken into and tenants have no water or air conditioning.
