My husband moved to Springfield two years ago to take a job. He happened upon The Abbey after a long weekend of looking around the area at other apartments. (I came a year later after my daughter graduated from High School). He started in a one bedroom which was super nice with a nice kitchen set up (cooktop stove, nice microwave, nice fridge and dishwasher, and plenty of cabinets), nice washer and dryer, and a walk-in closet. All the apartments have small balconies which we now have two outdoor chairs, a small table, and recycling bins on. One thing we both really liked about The Abbey was the security we felt living here. All of the apartments have interior entrances from a central hallway. You need a key to get into the complex itself. Last year when I came, my husband had a horrible bike wreck which put him in a wheelchair for a long time. Michael was really good about helping us find a 2 bedroom on the first floor, next to the handicap entrance. I have loved living here! I use the workout facility all the time (which is never crowded!!) and we love having The Abbey movie theater on the 3rd floor where they show current movies and pop you popcorn (every Friday and Saturday night) for free! They also have nice pools, tennis courts/basketball courts, and putting/chipping green. The staff here is extremely friendly and helpful, not only for apartment information, but also for information regarding Springfield. The only reason we are moving is that we found a house to buy and our dogs will love having a backyard! I HIGHLY recommend The Abbey for anyone who wants a safe, comfortable, quiet living atmosphere!
