I was treated very unfairly at Lake Shore. When I was ready to move out, I asked if I could move out at the end of April when my lease was up. Since I didn't give them a 30-day notice, I was financially responsible through the end of May, which is totally understandable. Then, at the end of May, they told me I was responsible for June as well. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I gave them plenty of notice, and I was even on a month-to-month basis at this point, so there is no reason why I couldn't move out at the end of May. Unfortunately, they wouldn't budge on their decision and threatened to charge me for attorney fees in court as well as rent and fines if I didn't pay. I strongly suggest looking elsewhere if you're looking for an apartment with staff that will listen to you and not try to charge you anywhere they can. Their initial, non-refundable fee is also very high when you sign on with them. Just look elsewhere and save yourself the hassle (and a ton of money!) of working with these people.
