Resident 2009 - 2010

8/10/2010

I am a newly wed.. our first home!!

My new husband and I move to The vineyards after we got married in 2009. We have truely enjoyed it. It is so nice to come home from work and be at "home". It is located close to shoping and everywhere to eat but I love how it isnt in the middle of all the congestion. I love the privacy feeling of living out here. I cant imagine a better first place to live as a wife with my husband. We have never had any problems. Anything that has come up needing to be fixed, the maintenance has taken care of it that day if possible. We arent in as big of a hurry to buy a house because we are enjoying living here right now. As long as you pay your rent on time and be responsible I think that anyone would have a good experience living at The Vineyards.

    Resident 2010

Located on 27 attractive acres, The Vineyard at Castlewood s offers their residents a variety of relaxing and healthy activities. Stay in shape by using our over grown trail around a green snaky swamp or by working out on the used equipment left by tenants who have moved out and thrown into an exercise room so we could charge more for rent. Our lighted tennis court, a hot tub that seldom works, basketball court that you can only use with other tenants (no guests allowed), and an expensive clubroom are all available to you along with our rude and very un-professional management services. Our two unclean and sometimes lighted swimming pools that the tenants use as their personal bedroom are also available. The Vineyard at Castlewood s is the highly desirable choice for those seeking an apartment that truly has appealing look for those who do not set very high standards. The management staff will be delighted to stay seated and answer your questions and provide only the information on cost and availability that you NEED to know. Please be sure to read ALL the fine print. Make sure you do a total walk through on the apartment… See More>

      Love This Place

I have lived at The Vineyards for over four years and would not consider moving any where else. I' must say when the new management company took over it was different and let me just say for the best. The property grounds are always at their best, the two pools are always full with happy families and fun. The maintenance staff can repair anything. and always appear to be in the best mood. I have had them replace my ice maker, disposal, AC repair and even my connections on my own dryer. They are always having things in the office for the residents like ccokie day , cupcake day and contest so you can take money off your rent. I love the girls in the office I cant imagine any of them being rude. They always take time to address my needs. I just want to say thanks to the whole staff for making my four years here the best.

        The place to live

I am currently a resident at the Vineyard Apartments. I have lived here almost two years and Lisa, Courtney, Jessie, and Dale are great people to deal with. I have had no trouble with them entering my apartment when no one is at home and any repairs have been within a day. They are trustworthy, and have responded to any and all of my needs. They have two pools, a hot tub, a nice work out room, basketball court, play ground area, and plenty of room to play for my kids. I like the fact that our family is protected as they don't tolerate a bunch of outsiders or residents causing any problems or breaking the rules. What more could you want!

          Very Good Property

I have lived hear for several years and while there was a managment change year before last, (for the better) the complex was and remains an excellent property. It seems some of the complaints leveled at managment are simply vindictive. I have lived in apartments for aprox. 30 years. This staff (office, grounds, and maintenance) are above par. If I have a problem I simply phone the office (I have never been treated rudely) and it is handled, usually the same day. The pools are cleaned and maintained (both) every day, as I see the staff doing this on both pools. I do not have nor have I ever had a "bug problem". I have raised a child here, who went to NWR (excellent schools). I like the "only two guests per apartment". I'm not paying for everybody and everybodies friends to use the facilities I pay for. It is apparent to me that some of these reviews are incredibly inaccurate as I have been in the office (they were making a copy for me) and a resident came in blasting the staff because of a garbage disposal! I did not stay… See More>

This is not a place for children!

We moved to the Vineyards from out of state. At first glance, the Vineyards in Brandon would appear to be a well-kept, clean, and friendly place to live. However, this is not a place to raise a family! This experience has been a total nightmare. My apartment is roach and spider infested. They have a man spray occasionally but he only hits a few corners. (Moreover, this is like spraying sugar water!) My apartment leaks water from the ceiling and maintenance just comes out and paints over it. (Making a mess all over while doing so) If you ever need to go to the office for anything; the staff is always rude and could care less about your need or problem. It is always a gossip session and the staff just stays at their desks while you wait at the door discussing your issue for the whole world to hear. What kind of business is that? You are pretty much better off doing your own repairs if you want to get the job completed or done right the first time. The people they hire to care for the lawns are always on their cell phones… See More>

              Dishonest Management

The apartment was not clean when we tried to move in and the walls are paper thin. This however is not a review about the apartment, but about the dishonest and rude management. My family moved into the Vineyard's in January 2010. We had recently sold our house and were in the process of buying another home. Prior to signing the lease I spoke with a lady (can provide name if needed) about early termination of the lease if we found a new home. We discussed the associated fees and deposit. Instead of paying the $87 (non-refundable) deposit, I paid $500 so I would get my entire deposit back. I didn't read every word of the contract (my mistake and will never happen again) and trusted the word of the lady that early termination fees were set and I would get my deposit back. Well, we found a house and provided all the information to management about our termination. We went above and beyond to clean the apartment before we vacated. The process seemed very smooth until we discussed the initial deposit of $500. After my wife wrote a $1333 dollar check to terminate our lease, another lady (can… See More>

                Normal place

I've been living in the apartments since March 2009, so only 7 months. Haven't had any problems. I've seen a lot of management complaints. They're not rocket scientists, but normal people from what I have seen. I haven't had any problems. In regards to people in my apartment, I've always received notice regarding when someone would be in my apartment. If they have come in without notice, I have no clue. They must be ninjas... I do agree with the thin walls. I can hear my neighbor's running water in the shower, but that's it. I cannot hear conversations. There were a good amount of bugs during the summer, but I stayed on top of spraying stuff around my door and windows regularly. I did have our A/C go out after a bad thunderstorm. I called maintenance and they arrived later that day. Probably a few hours later, but it was same day service on a weekend. Pool and Gym are clean. I use the Gym regularly. It's not a great gym, but it's free. Cable and Basic Internet is included with your rent. I would say this is one of the better apartments that I have lived in. I have seen much better places, but for less… See More>

                  Great place to live

My family and I have been living here now for over a year. We are moving from a 1 bedroom apartment, which is huge, to a three bedroom. The apartments are nice, we have never had any problems with it as far as heat/air, kitchen appliances, etc. It's a great place to live and is very quite. The three bedrooms are also pretty big and it's cheaper than a house, and just a nice. The management here are also great! Always caring and willing to answer any questions we might have. It's also in a great area, minutes from a mall, wal-mart, video store, movie theatre, etc. I would recommend anytime. Hopefully my family and I can live here for a while.

                    Management Is Terrible, Bug Infested!

At first glance the Vinyards in Brandon appears well kept, clean and attractive. However, the experience has been a nightmare. My apartment is roach infested so bad that I have had to remove all food from my apartment. They never spray for bugs and lie about having done so. My apartment leaks water from the ceiling when it rains and maintenance just comes out and paints over it. The office people are rude and care less about doing their job. You pretty much have to do your own repairs if you want to get the job completed or done right the first time. The people they hire to care for the lawns steal stuff from the residents, damage your vehicles while the work and harass the female tenants. The dumpster is always over fill and smells horrible. The pools are also nasty. They never add chemicals to the water and the water smells aweful. It really is sad because now I am stuck living here until I can move out which will cost me even more money and headache. By the way it is very over priced! Some residents are charged $600 per month while others are charged $900 for the like… See More>

Good Apartment,, 1 bad thing happened....

I moved in May 2008. I moved in right when a new company took over, and they really started getting things done. New roofs, new installed microwaves, paved driveways, etc. They gave me a months free rent just for signing another lease, and my rent is very reasonable for the size of a 1 bedroom. Huge ceilings, enormous storage closet, and a walkway closet for the bedroom. The best part about living here is that I feel safe. It's not like the area of Jackson, and the scenery is gorgeous. Plus only 7-10 minutes from shopping and restaurants. It's a little commute to school, but to me it's worth it. Cable and internet is included in your rent. They switched to comcast which made a huge difference versus direcpath. Now I don't have to worry about paying another bill. The only bad thing that happened is the workers that came in to my apartment to install the microwave stole my digital camera. I did not notice it was gone until almost a week later. It was laying in the kitchen where they were working. The manager basically said there was nothing they could do, and that we are responsible for our… See More>

This apartment is not one that i would recommend to anyone that i know. I liked it here at first eventhough i thought the rent was alittle up there in price. Then the months after that it got worse we started having roaches and lots of ants. They're supposed to have people to come in and spray for bugs that didn't happen we have children our twelve month old kept getting bit by ants and i am pissed. The management around here sucks what are we supposed to do if their not doing their jobs except hanging stuff on the doors. I think it is time for us to make a change and move but they want us to stay here another couple of weeks eventhough our lease is up because our letter of termination was late Hell No we are out of here as soon as possible because i am not staying here after the lease is up. I will make sure i will go out kicking and screaming.

                          Think twice

I have rented a apartment in this complex for a while. At first although a little expensive, the cable and internet were included so, I figured it was worth it. After a week or so, it felt as if our neighbors were in our apartment with us. We could actually hear when they used the bathroom, the walls are paper thin. I was confronted with the horrible secuirty they have. The security officer makes you feel like you are living in prison. He intimidates the children and shows prejudice to who does what. I am a very liberal stable person and feel when it comes to paying high rent, you should not be treated like an infidel. Not worth it if you want to actually get what you pay for. Would not advise anyone to rent at this complex.

                            Horrible Management

I have lived here a few years and just found out the other day they were charging me for things that I was unaware and furthermore never notified me I had a running tab. At one point I tried to move to a bigger apt and the management was completely uninterested in making more money or having me upgrade my living accomadations. Staff is constantly in and out of my apt. and I find personal items tampered with constantly. When confronted the staff became quite defensive. Rent is too high and going up. Don't believe the first month free incentive. I would not recommend this complex to anyone.

                                  New management is doing great!

I moved in June 4, 2008. I moved in right after Heritage Properties bought this community. The new management has done a great job cleaning up the mess left by the old owners. I live on the first floor close to the entrance and have no complaints about noise whatsoever. I do hear my upstairs neighbor when they drop something hard. But, if you think you are never going to hear your neighbors at any apartment then you thought wrong. I have never been bothered by my neighbors. Despite me being here during a major renovation (All new roofs, all new vent hood/microwaves, all new cable/internet, and parking lot repaving) it has been relatively quiet all things considered. I sleep during the day and stay up all night. So, if the construction was going to bother anyone it would be me. I have lived in dozens of different apartment communities all over the United States. I have paid more at some and less at others. This community offers the best bang for your buck. I feel extremely safe and would walk anywhere in the community 24/7. The maintenance is fast and thorough. They have responded quickly to any need I… See More>

Well, it turns out that they are liars. So our rent jumped up over $100. On top of that, the walls are paper thin. We can hear the guy behind us snoring and the kid upstairs doesn't sleep...just jumps up and down or throws tantrums all day. I highly recommend not moving into the "apartments."

We were told that we needed to page the courtesy representative to make a complaint. And once three complaints were filed in the tenats file, they would be evicted. Well, we have paged the courtesy representative endlessly and we never got a response from him. We have complained to the management that we never receive a phone call from the courtesy representative, and make the complaint about the dog to them, they have only put one notice in their file.... I was shocked by how nice the young girl behind the front desk was. I had gone several other places & the staff was quick to rush me out the door!! Both Anna & Mary have really made me feel comfortable while living here.
I read some of the other comments on the review list before I moved in, thus far I have not seen the management staff act lazy or rude...?? I have recommenced the apartments to several of my friends & co-workers.

I moved in not too long ago and so far the community seems nice. The tenants keep to themselves and the office staff is friendly and helpful. I have had few calls to the office for repairs and all were handled quickly. I had no trouble with the application process. Things have really gone smoothly for me. Everything I need from shopping to schools are conviently located. My only complaint so far is my noisy neighboors. I have complained and it was handled well leaving me to not have to deal with it. Overall, I can't agree with what others have said on here. I find the staff to be both helpful and very professional. Sometimes it is all about how YOU talk to people. I intend to stay here for as long as I need and would recommend The Vineyards to others.

                                              OK place, bad management

The apartment is spacious, bright and generally nice. The building is a little cheap (cheap dishwasher, some cracks and the doors swing shut) but I've seen worse and it's at least fairly new. The neighbors are friendly. The schools are supposed to be excellent and very close. The location is great with nearby shopping and restuarants, recreation and is fairly safe. Despite being close to many businesses, the complex feels and sounds secluded, surrounded by woods, with a golf course nearby.

The management is another story. They are unprofessional and sluggish. We lived here for several days before they got around to drafting a lease for us. The apartment was dirty when we moved in, they cleaned it again, it was still filthy. Not wanting to be labeled as complainers we came in ourselves and scrubbed it. Not just cobwebs and scuffs, but lots of dog hair and what looked like talc powder a centimeter thick on the baseboards in one room and some unknown substance (juice?) on almost all door surfaces. The things that we asked to be repaired were, but not timely. The girls in the management office are friendly, not rude to us, but seem to… See More>

                                                Awful, unprofessional, & uncaring management!!

My husband just sent me a link to this website from work and said "check this out". So I did, and now I feel like I am reading my own words after reading the previous two posts!! My husband and I have lived here a little over a year. Like the one of the previous posters, we also were impressed by the location, the model "show" apartments, and the rental price seemed a great value because they were running a rent special. But also like one of the previous posters, we filled out the application and were approved about 4 months in advance. When we moved in, the painting job was absolutely HORRIBLE (it looked like it had been done my a kindergartener) and LOTS of other little stuff, but mostly we were so upset about the paint. We complained to management, and the head management lady was very unprofessional and downright rude towards us. After an entire month of SUPPOSEDLY trying to repaint and fix the problem, it still looked nearly as bad and still does to this day. We have been treated equally rudely by the head manager for… See More>

I HAVE MADE SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ABOUT MY AIR NOT WORKING AND THE MGMT KEEPS TELLING ME THEY WILL FIX IT AND THEY NEVER DO. WHEN I FIRST MOVED IN THEY HAD A GREAT STAFF THAT SEEMED VERY PROFFESSIONAL AND CARING OF MY NEEDS, THEY CHANGED MANAGERS ABOUT A YEAR AFTER I MOVED IN.THE OLD CURLY HEADED MANAGER TOOK CARE OF MY PROBLEMS IN A TIMLEY MANNER AND WAS VERY HELPFUL. THE MANAGER NOW IS A GREAT LADY BUT, SEEMS TO BUSY TO CARE. I HAVE VOICED MY ISSUES TO THE MGT COMPANY BUT NO ONE WILL RESPOND.THIS MAKES ME WANT TO RE THINK LIVING HERE ANOTHER YEAR.
