When I moved in in 6/07, I was the first one in the 12000 building. It was not even finished yet. The original management team was so nice and helpful and gave me a great deal on a 1/1. Parking was awesome (I was the only one in the building). After a few months, the building filled up, but it was still a nice place to live. When the new management company took over, things started to decline in a hurry. They stopped running background checks, so anyone could move in there. They also stopped regulating parking. I would come home on Sunday nights, and there was no where to park. $700 a month, and I can't get a parking space? The summer of '08 (one of the hottest on record) my AC would stop working during the day while I was sleeping (I worked nightshift). The last six months were especially terrible. It seemed like every one of the people, except me, had a dog, and there was dog ---- all over the grass outside. I couldn't even open my sliding door to get fresh air, it was so bad. I could tell right before I moved out, these apartments were turning into slums. I'm glad I got out when I did. I have heard it's gotten worse. Consider a cardboard box before you sign a lease at this place.
