Resident 2011 - 2018

PROS: Nice "rural" area but within ~4 miles of Southern Village (park-n-ride) and downtown Chapel Hill. Luxury look inside apartment. Lots of square footage compared to area rentals. The galley kitchens are nice. Quiet with side-to-side neighbors. In unit washer/dryers. On-site workout centers. Gas fire pit (though only open till 9pm). Pretty landscaping, lots of mature trees. Perfect spot to reach I-40, 15-501, 54, or 64 via back-roads (UNC/Chapel Hill, Durham, western Raleigh, Jordan Lake, and Pittsboro). Staff are kind. CONS: Rent increases ~$100/month with each lease renewal. Amenities are decreased each lease term but rates go up. The square/U shaped kitchens are not nice, awkward and may only have 1 drawer. Camden may be top place for staff, but not for residents-corporate down decisions are based on bottom line, so cheap and slow replacements. Maintenance staff nice but are overworked, understaffed, and leave alot---plus alot of work contracted to subpar third parties. LEAKS-I have lived in two units in 7 years and average 2 major water leaks a year (cheap equipment and no preventative maintenance). As mentioned above, staff are kind but not sympathetic presumably due to things being corporate decisions.
