Laurel Ridge Apartments

I have lived at Laurel Ridge for a few years now and can give insight into the pros and cons of living here. Pros: - close to campus: you can walk (~20 mins) or take the bus (~5 mins) and the bus comes often (every 15-20 mins) - very large apartments: the 1 bedroom apartments are very spacious with a large bathroom and lots of kitchen counterspace - friendly office staff - quick response to maintenance issues - laundry room is convenient if you live in one of the nearby buildings - rarely hear neighbors in 3rd floor apartment - pool is close by and never crowded - plenty of parking available Cons: - cars on the highway are very loud if you live in one of the buildings near 54 - laundry facilities fill up on popular laundry days - have to travel to sister apartment complex to use the gym - water is no longer included in rent and ends up being very expensive - lighting is poor behind the buildings at night - J bus line is becoming more popular so the bus may drive past the Kingswood stop (the stop where you would catch the bus to get to campus) at busy times of the day
