Laurel Ridge Apartments

i have lived here for 1.5 years and think that this complex is perfect for the graduate student or newlyweds. There are some children in the complex, but not many. It's definitely not a rowdy undergrad complex, which is one of the main reasons I moved here. I heard about Laurel Ridge through multiple colleagues in my graduate program, who loved it because it was quiet, right on the J bus line, and had a nice footpath into Carrboro/Chapel Hill. It is also very animal friendly, with reasonable monthly pet fees (mine is $15). The staff are wonderful. Always friendly when I go to pick up a package or have a maintenance issue, which are few and far between. My only real complaint is the laundry room- I wish there were more washers and dryers and that they were of a higher quality. They break down more often than I'd like, posing a problem for the user of how to clean their clothes. They also require the purchase of a rechargeable money card to use them- having the option to use quarters would be more convenient.
