Resident 2010 - 2011

12/26/2012

Echoing others, this place is pretty horrid. I lived here for a year a few years ago (so I'm not really one of those people who gets pissed and comes to write a review about it) and was out abruptly after that. Honestly, if the apartment gave any cares for this property, they would've done something about this AR.com page already. I'm going to rattle off what others have said, in order of noticability: First, the other residents. Driving in, it looked decent...for about 10 seconds. Then you drive inside more, and it's a complete ------. People constantly walking to and fro outside, loitering outside, doing god knows what, and no, these are not people out for a stroll (since there's nowhere to stroll anyway). They're OBNOXIOUSLY loud all the time, big speaker systems and yelling -- the whole package. I can tolerate a lot of noise unlike some people on AR.com (I lived in Seoul for awhile where it's loud ALL the time), but this was over-the-top ridiculous. There was a few drug-related and gun-related incidents while I was living there, and the complex is small so you can't miss it. Second, the apartments. I really don't like the dishonesty of the staff when it comes to the model. I was fine with not getting the "upgraded with hardwood floors and new furniture" model that I'm now sure they tell everyone about, but again, this was over-the-top ridiculous. Dirty, nasty, and disgusting are three words that come to mind immediately. Our place was an absolute wreck on move-in day. Scum everywhere, dishwasher unusably dirty, carpet stained to hell, kitchen floor ruined, JUNK all over my apartment courtesy of our terrible roommates, etc. I could go on and on. The "back porch" thing was basically a 3ft x 3ft concrete slab that gave you a pleasant view of a fence and trash EVERYWHERE around the backside of the apartments. Gross, much? I could go on and on, honestly. Those are the big things. If those haven't convinced you not to live here, here's a comment on each of AR.com's categories: Parking -- Ok, I mean we never really had trouble finding a spot but we lived in the very back where there was an abundance around (but consequently the most ------ likely since there was less people). I know it got quite full at times for others. Noise -- Read first paragraph. Grounds -- For what was there, just ok. There was barely any "grounds" except the parking lot and sidewalk and it was just ok. Broken in some spots and what-not. "Uninspiring and dull" is a good way to put it. Safety -- Total fail. We have a damn 50" (or something large?) flat screen TV stolen right out of our living room while we were gone one day. It got so bad that we didn't even report it because we just assumed one of our idiotic roommates had jacked it for awhile since no one ever used it. When we reported it, nothing came of it anyway. Pathetic. The cops frequent visits to our area should tell it's not safe at all. Definitely 0/10. Construction -- Given how old they looked, pretty dece-- just kidding. Total crap. We had a leaky ceiling made worse by the fact that my roommate's bathroom overflowed due to her own incompetence and weakened the integrity of the ceiling, causing a drip. The maintenance crew "fixed it," but not really. It kept leaking after that and on top of it, a huge, ugly repair thing on our ceiling. Paper thin walls. Paper. Thin. I could always hear moan emanating from the next room. Makes for great dreams, oh yeah. Maintenance -- Meh. "They did their job." I saw them frequently, but they weren't working. When we moved in, we reported some burnt-out lights. They came by and gave us lights MONTHS later. Piss poor. They were as ------ as the residents, pretty much. I'd swear they were just friends who had jacked a golf cart. Staff -- Uh. Yeah. They must be totally oblivious. Decently friendly and polite but ignorant to the problems of the residents. Not much to say. Unlike most on AR.com, whether the staff of a complex is great or not doesn't affect me much since I hardly speak to them after moving in. I handle most problems myself. Overall -- No. Just no. Don't do it. Ever. We did this for the extremely low cost (like $350ish) but there are others at the same price bracket that are still better. Go somewhere else.
