Haven at Patterson Place

While the Verge is a fairly new complex and competitively priced the facade ends there...because along with those amenities you also get a staff that doesn't ever want to be bothered, is terriblely unorganized, and responds to tenants needs slower than FEMA in New Orleans. During my year living in their apartment I had bug problems twice which were never fixed, and an explosive waterpipe in my bathroom that was supposedly repaired but leaked water all year. In addition, the apartments are still settling, so the stoves are not level and my bathroom and bedroom doors did not close completely as a result. The new all-inclusive package is even more than advertised as I was billed double my utility charge as was my roommate three times. In addition, the propane tanks on the grills at the pool and basketball courts are almost always empty, so don't get excited about grilling out. Parking is a nightmare because the complex doesn't enforce towing. It is extremely inexpensive relative to other apartments in the area, but expect a level of customer service that makes Walmart look good. Overall I wouldn't recommend living there, if you are a UNC student pay the extra money to live near campus in the Warehouse because it is nicer and the staff is excellent or even pay extra to live in Chancellor's square which isn't as nice, but has much better service by the rental agency.
