Resident 2005 - 2007

8/29/2007

we lived in this community for about a year and a half. during this time, things went from ok to worse. the apartments themselves are just fine... construction quality is about the same as any other new-construction built in 2005. nothing really wrong with it, we were the first to live there so everything was new. the yard in front of and behind the building was pretty pathetic. the front lawn was all sod that didn't take, so it was basically soggy smelly rotten dead grass. the back "lawn" was construction fill: dirt with some rusty nails and wiring in it. i'm glad i had a recent tetanus shot! parking was okay until right about the time we moved, when any and all nearby available spaces were full if you got home after 9pm due to someone or another having a loud party. speaking of the parties, no amount of calls to the police or management got us any amount of sleep at night when this happened. we could clearly hear the lyrics from the next building. the neighbors began spending a lot of time partying on our own back yard, but they were less noisy than the other loud parties so that was tolerable. most of the time. we once had an issue with ants in the house, they took 4 days to respond. i cleaned up and killed the things myself rather than wait around 4 days with 2-300 ants in my kitchen at any given time. finally, the management. i will never live at a property managed by this woman again. there were times i would go in there and have to wait 15 minutes for her to finish chatting with another STAFF MEMBER. after we left, i patiently waited the 30 days for our rental deposit refund, only calling once to ensure that the inspection revealed no problems. on day 31, i called to politely inquire about my $800 deposit, and was basically blown off. when my husband went there to ask about it, he was told we were lucky to get anything back, the house was destroyed, the only reason we were getting anything back was because it had been more than 30 days. i cleaned the house thoroughly, even going as far as to fill the nail-holes with putty, so that was a big fat lie. i called again to address this, and was again given big attitude. so i returned the attitude. she refused to do anything for me, so i had to go over her head to the corporate office to get money back that was rightfully OURS. not a bad place, but you're not their first priority. it wasn't worth $815/month to us.
