My wife and I moved into Loray Mill just over a year ago. When looking for an apartment, we were very excited when we saw this place with how upscale and unique it is. Many new apartments are all pretty much the same but there is no place as unique as the Mill. The apartments themselves are very appealing to the eye with huge windows that let in a lot of natural light. The open floor plans are good for singles, couples and small families. I would not recommend an open floor plan to a larger family as noise travels through the apartment very easily. The exposed brick and polished concrete floors along with the clean layouts and granite counters give the apartment a very rustic and modern feel at the same time. With the brick and concrete, you are able to hear those living above and below you at times but luckily we've not had any major issues with that. The Mill is also located a couple blocks from a train that passes every couple hours. After living here for a short period of time we hardly even notice it anymore. The amenities are great here at the Mill. They have an amazing pool; best I've seen of any apartment in the area. The hot tub is open year round. They have a brand new full gym that's free to residents. Trash is picked up at your door 5 nights a week. They are also about to open a Growler's USA pub on site very soon which will be very convenient to residents who want to eat out but don't want to fight traffic or huge crowds. The surrounding neighborhood is not yet up to par with the Mill itself but it is undergoing many renovations and is definitely looking better the longer we've lived here. West Gastonia is clearly on the rise and Loray Mill is a major part of that comeback. Overall we love living here. The office staff are always willing to help when there are issues. They are very quick to respond to maintenance requests and personal emails. It's by far the most unique place we've ever lived. We just re-signed for another year and look forward to our second year here at Loray Mill.
