This is a very nice historical mill turned into an apartment complex with very high windows and ceilings and the prices for the place are pretty good compared to similar places in town and in neighboring Charlotte. It's very cool. Everyone I've ever brought in to see the place thought it was awesome. The former and current staff have always been great with my girlfriend and I. Frances was the former manage and I had nothing but positive interaction with her. She left, so now we deal with the assistance manager, Brittany, most of the time, and she is VERY communicative and easy to talk to. Amber is also super nice. I haven't had much contact with the current manager, Roxanne, but I've heard nothing but good things from my neighbors. They do what they can to help in anyway they are able to if their hands aren't tied by the corporate investing/banking company. If something needs to be fixed, maintenance always has been quick to respond. You can pay the rent online on their resident portal, which I find very convenient. The neighbors are great. I would say that 90% of the people I've interacted with, whether gregarious or shy, have always been friendly. One guy lent us his dolly to use when we moved in and just asked that I leave it in front of his door when finished! Large packages are delivered straight to your door step and people have decorations in front of their doors, all without fear of anyone stealing anything. The pool area is very spacious and has an outdoor kitchen. There is a small place for dogs, though, you can walk them anywhere as long as you clean up after them. They have a small farmers market on Sundays, the gym is modern, there is an eclectic shop on the second floor, they host events often, such as weddings or various community outings, and they have plans to open a few other things such as a restaurant and brewery on the grounds. We were only planning on moving there for a year to check out Gastonia and look at buying a house, but we just renewed a lease and buying a home is on the backburner because we like living there so much. It's only about a mile down the road from downtown Gastonia for those that like to eat out or visit the local bars. Zoes is our favorite.
