Friendly Hills - Fights, Noise, Crime, Drugs.......a felons paradise!

We have been at friendly hills for a little over a year......so why are we still here.....financial and family problems kept us from looking elsewhere when our lease expired 5 months ago. So why is it so bad at friendly hills? 1. NO SECURITY True story: I was walking my dog and when I got back to my apartment I noticed a few older kids hanging around outside. I called security and they stated, "it will be at least 2 hours before I can get by there!". So at this point I had to ask what the kids were doing. They tried to stab me and rob me however being an ex marine I was able to defend myself properly and disable all 3 of them while giving them multiple broken bones to calm them down. ABSOLUTELY NO ONE CAME OUT TO HELP OR SEE WHAT WAS GOING ON, in fact I was SHOCKED I could see 5 people look through their blinds and just go back to bed after seeing a fight involving a life and possible DEATH. I waited for the cops for about 20 minutes on a cold night in middle of FEB and then just cut the kids lose with threats if they ever returned. The rash of robberies and break ins actually stopped dead cold for 2 months. Moral of the story: You are on your own here......no one will assist if you are in trouble (WOMEN TAKE NOTE!) 2.NOISE I guess the in thing here is to have 1000 watts not only in your car but also in your apartment. I have called to complain to management so many times I just gave up. My neighbors when we moved in the second apartment were WONDERFUL. Of course this never last and now we are surrounded by college kids. When we come home at night we find glass bottles broken all over the parking lot, kids throwing up over the balcony, and a fresh smell of Jamaican air (marijuana). The noise starts at 12pm and does not end until 5am. Do you think you are ready to test what lack of sleep really means? Live here! Friendly Hills (Westborough Apartments) will tell you they are strict with a 3 strike policy against noise complaints. Having files over 15 complaints and having to stay at friends houses on weekends just to sleep I would say this is more a rule of 10 strikes and 5 foul balls before you are out. How would you feel to come home from a hard day to find out you can not even sleep due to walls shaking and a clear reception of every word of the song they are listening to. NOT THE APARTMENT FOR SLEEPERS but will suffice fine for meth heads or cocaine users. 3. DRUGS I have lived in 6 places in my life (Greensboro, Winston-Salem, Charlotte, Houston, Las Vegas, and San Francisco) and have never lived around so many drug dealers. The first week I was hear I had 3 neighbors from surrounding buildings let me know where I could "get good" as they phrased it. I asked what it meant and they gave me a prices on everything they carried (how professional). I reported this to the office and police but I guess the employees enjoy having their "sources" so close to home because I still see at least 20 people a day make a quick one minute shop in to the guys I mentioned above. People will get out of there cars with cereal box and each time return with a back pack. I don't know but something tells me these 30 year olds are not into cereal and high learning. If you have kids and would like for them to have a real great starting place to abuse drugs why not try Friendly Hills, WE OFFER IT ALL! I repeat, we have anything and everything you want or can't get your hands on. 4. TIMBER When the new management took over Friendly Hills, which is now westborough, they had high promises but like everything else it was all hype. They did however hire a timber crew to remove several old trees from the area. I counted at least 4 vehichles damaged by the tree removal and friendly hills left these people out to dry. They offered absolutely not assistance with getting the vehicle fixed or with helping the cars owner work with the timber company to get repair cost. One night while I was asleep I heard a large crash. I looked outside and saw nothing so I figured my druggy neighbors had done a bit too much and passed out again. Upon waking up I noticed we had a HUGE and I mean HUGE tree sitting in the parking laying on top of 4 cars. Friendly hills was nice enough to remove the tree which had totaled all 4 cars but then offered no assistance to help these tenants (3 of which did not have full coverage). This tree was on Friendly Hills property, fell on 4 tenants cars, and they pretty much said "It's not our problem" (I was in the office filing more complaints when this unfolded). The thing to consider is if a tenant had chopped a tree down, friendly hills could have filed charges for destruction of property. However, if the property which friendly hills owns destroys someone elses property it is all of a sudden not theirs............? WATCH WHERE YOU PARK IF YOU CAN EVEN FIND PARKING. 5. LOITERING I am not going to write to much about this but one more thing to consider is getting ready for confrontation. At least once a week I have to go outside at whatever time it is to kick people OFF MY (YES MY....I DID SAY MY!!) CAR. For some reason it's the in thing here to sit and lay on other peoples cars. Since moving here I have gone through 6 tires (in only a year and a half) due to objects/glass in the parking lots and have had so many dents and scratches placed on my car from others that the exterior of my car looks like crap. I have owned the car for 10 years and until I moved here it looked AMAZING. What is done is done but take my advice and install a proximity sensor on your car IMMEDIATELY to avoid what I call the friendly hills car effect. DO NO DRIVE A NICE CAR IF YOU ARE MOVING HERE! IT WILL BE BEAT UP AND BROKEN INTO! Apart from that I would say this apartment is about on par with living in any other section 8 housing project. I personally have not ever lived section 8 but feel I know exactly what it's like just by living here. Take my advice or don't, that is your choice as an American. When something does happen to you though you can not say no one warned you. Sincerely, "Trooper"
