The Hamptons: A Comprehensive Review
I lived at The Hamptons at Country Park for about 2 months. Since the management couldn't live up to any of their obligations, I was able to get out of my lease. I'm still waiting to see if they try to charge me for this. Keys: If for some reason you do decide to rent here, make sure you test your mailbox key before you sign. I had to make other arrangements with my mail because the staff was too incompetent to give me the right key. Additionally, I came home one day to find my apartment unlocked. No, maintenance did not stop by that day, and I didn't leave the place unlocked either. Logically, this means that someone besides myself and the landlord had a key. You've been warned. Appliances & Kitchen: I had trouble with the refrigerator, dishwasher, and water heater. The fridge made noises so loud that it would wake me up in the middle of the night. Maintenance wouldn't even bother to look into this. Not only was it loud, but being cold was hit or miss. I came home several times to find food, only 3 days old had spoiled. I was unable to wash dishes the entire time I lived here. The staff kept telling me that a new dishwasher had been ordered, but maintenance just never got around to putting it in. The water heater was probably older than I am, and it comes in two temperatures; ice cold and scalding hot. Although, you don't get to pick what the temp will be. Bathroom: The bath was pretty filthy, and it took several hours of cleaning to make it usable. Only after I had spent so much time cleaning up, did I find that the shower didn't work properly. Toggling over from shower to tub was hit or miss. Maintenance was adamant that nothing was wrong with the shower. The sink was old and cracking. It looks like someone had used it for an ashtray, not to mention it smells that way too. Neighbors: The neighbors are mostly considerate, except of course when they aren't being considerate. This occurs about 50% of the time. Anything from loud music, to strangers trying to invite themselves in your apartment can and will happen. Overall: This place is a dump. For a few bucks more you can get a place in this price range right down the street, and you won't have to ask repeatedly to get appliances working or the correct mailbox keys. This place may have been nice at one time, but I really can't recommend this place to anyone in its current state.Share This Review
