I have lived in Paces Village for 2 and a half years. The grounds are really nice and dog-friendly. My neighbors are nice. The maintenance people are nice too but the maintenance problems abound.

I have had several pipes burst, crack or leak and then flood my bedroom, living room and bathroom.

The maintenance people tell me that this is a regular occurence and that most of the calls they run are do to the ailing pipes. They say the pipes need to be replaced but the management just laughed at me and told me it would be too expensive.

Finding the pipe that's leaking often takes awhile and the smell caused by drying out the carpet was horrible and gave me a headache. I have bad allergies and am concerned about mold, but they swear there is no mold. With all the water damage how is that possible?

I couldn't stay in my apartment while they were fixing it so I stayed with my friend. They management refused to credit my rent and told me that's why they require the residents to have renters insurance.

Its outrageous because they know the pipes are the problem and by forcing me to use my renters insurance to stay in hotel will cause my premium to increase. Its a problem due to their negligence so they should pay for it.

The manager told me that living in an apartment complex I should expect leaks and other problems. That's ridiculous! I have not had any leaks/burst pipes or other water-related problems in ANY of the other apartment complexes I have lived in.

The new management team that moved in last year are awful. They are rude or have an attitude. One of the women that works at the front office was outside yelling drunk during a blackout.

They charged me $350 in nonrefundable fees for my 40 lbs. 7 year old dog, along with $20 a month. That's excessive. When I hit my two year mark I asked them if they could discount the monthly "pet rent" because I have lived there so long and my dog is well-trained and hasn't caused any damage. They said no.

My friends stay at other apartment complexes, like Lincoln Green, where they would be willing to offer discounts. I don't think I was being unreasonable, after two years there amount of money I have paid in dog rent alone would cover the recarpeting and repainting of my apartment. And my dog hasn't caused any damage. The damage is all from water leaks!
