First Street Place

I moved to FSP for graduate school and I was extremely excited. However, my experience there did not equal up to my excitement. My biggest issue was noisy neighbors, especially the apartment below me. I had to send several emails and spoke to a staff face to face twice complaining about the same apartment and nothing was ever done. I actually had to call the police once. I had issues with a very loud refrigerator and washing machine. Once, I left the apartment over the weekend and came back and the maintenance staff left my door unlocked (slightly opened) after they entered to 'fix' the refrigerator. On a good note, once my AC stopped working and the maintenance men did fix it immediately! I had trouble with roaches and spiders. However, I must say that I am terrified of spiders so the spider issue may have been more traumatic due to my fears. Also, I was put on the pest control list several times before they actually showed up. Lastly, be sure to document every small scratch, poor painting, any damages in great detail because they will try to charge you even if you documented it on the move-in inspection check list. Overall, I would say that my stay here was beneficial in that it was a place to stay having inclusive rent. The issues I experience kept me from signing again. There are other apartment complexes that are not student living that is the same price and much better. I would recommend this apartment to those who do not mind loud noises and bugs. I would also recomment that prospective tenants do not get an apartment near the road! The traffic is extremely loud; my window and bed was beside a busy street, beside the bridge, and the traffic woke me up all time during the day and night. Benefits: Close to ECU campus Shuttle Utilities included in rent Fast Internet!
