Resident 2015

10/6/2015

The address that is listed here is incorrect: it is in Concord, NC, not Harrisburg. I've lived here since Feburary 2015. It's honestly not a bad place, but you get what you pay for. I have a one bed/bath and it's small, but pretty well laid out. My only issue is there is a sliding glass door in my bedroom, and upon my first night stay, I was blinded by the lights coming in from the other building--black out curtains are a must! I never use the sliding glass door, so I have it completely blocked off, which is fine for my needs. They have a laundry room on site, and I've always felt safe using it. I now have my own washer and dryer, and the laundry room in my apartment is a nice size. It's in the bedroom, which I actually love. The bathroom is small, the closet is small, and there's very little cabinet space--I've gotten creative, but it works for me. There is a noise issue--the walls and ceilings are relatively thin and when my next door neighbors shout at each other, I can hear some of the conversation. The people who live above me have dogs and I can hear them moving. The other person next door to me has a dog--I can hear it barking. Again, I got what I paid for, and I feel pretty safe here, and since I'm on the first floor--I think it's a trade off. My only big issue is with fleas--I don't have a pet, nor have I ever owned one or allowed one in my apartment. Management has had an exterminator come out every time I've asked them to, but again, I feel if the carpets had been replaced or cleaned after the last tenant moved out, I may not have had this problem. The appliances are cheap, but I've not had any issues with them so far. They are also apartment size, so they are smaller than standard. Management has been pretty quick to respond to any issues that I've had--including one major issue where my A/C broke in the middle of July--it was fixed the next day. I work long hours during the week, and I've never felt uncomfortable not being there while they fix any issues. I will say that I had a slight mold problem, and the maintenance person just painted over the mold growing on the baseboard--and painted the carpet as well. So, the quality of work done leaves a lot to be desired. Again, if you're looking for someplace cheap, easy to local shopping, and safe, then this is the place.
