There are so many other options downtown in this price range - with better amenities, much less neighbor noise and better parking. oh the noise here! the layouts in the apartments are just not ideal. if you like to use your kitchen at all - I would not move here. when I first moved in a few years ago, the place had character and was a decent value in the $700 / mo range for a 1 BR. but at or over $1,000 / mo. is laughable. the building was sold recently and the new owner has really jacked up the prices. almost all of my neighbors and friends have moved out in the last year - so that tells you something. you will also get a lot of homeless people walking around due to the shelter one block away. they are generally fine, but every once in a while its kind of scary. if you're a single female, I'd think twice. the positives: nice updated outdoor / grilling space (although tons of problems with pet waste). old building with some character. decent location.
