In general, I like my apartment. I particularly like the trees and the brick buildings. And I am happy to have gotten to know some nice people who live around me. There are some great folks here. A number of residents walk their children in the evening, so there is a safe and warm atmosphere among neighbors. That said, I have heard of a couple of armed robberies that happened this year. One was a break-in, while the other was in the parking lot. Clearly, the people in our complex are nice folks, some are more social while others keep to themselves, but in any event, nowhere around here is completely safe from outsiders coming in here to rob you at gun point. Fortunately, no one was injured and perpetrators were arrested in a timely manner. On a less heavy note, my other disappointment has been that we have no (plastic, paper, glass, aluminum cans) recycling bins, even though Raleigh passed a law saying that everybody is supposed to be recycling. We only have cardboard recycling. The adjacent apartment complex does have the separated recycling bins, which is okay for the highly motivated folks. Lastly, the construction of the buildings is nice and sturdy, though some of the first floor patio walls have cracked, sunk or crumbled slightly due to careless construction. Some units may need kitchen upgrades, air conditioning upgrades, and upgrades to aging doors and windows. Some apartments may need insect traps for roaches, while others may not have any problems with the bugs. Overall, this has worked out well and I have had no regrets.
