Verified Resident ā¢ 2019 - 2023
Overall a nice community, in a growing area. Glenwood South area is seeing tremendous growth in the past 5 yrs let alone past 10-15 yrs. More apartments and options are providing newer and more expensive housing options. My experience in Links has been good with some issues related to noise level by neighbors walking above you, or should I say 'stomping' on the ceiling. Staff did due diligence and moved me to an upper floor unit, even though I had to pay more. They've also attended building maintenance issues with the exterior of the building, balcony overhangs to protect against rain. However, the negatives have been other noise issues, a train which loudly blows its horn every morning at 5:45 am and awakes you. Other loud street and music blaring coming from the clubs/restaurants on Glenwood. Also, rent price increases with inflation over the past year. Completely outrageous rent prices makes you wonder. Features inside the building aren't special. Business center has only 1 computer and another which hasn't been replaced for years; exercise facility has poor equipment which needs to be replaced and doesn't work most of the time. I don't think any of the televisions every work properly and literally don't have signals. I don't know if the signals are just poor or if young silly residents are intentionally programming the remotes/tv's to not work? I just don't understand 1 day a television works and the next day, none of the stations work or the television doesn't come on. Lack of attention in this community, which brings me to cleanliness. TOO MANY PETS or dogs in this community. There's a disgusting odor of dog urine in the breezeways and complete lack of courtesy by dog owners in this community allowing their pets to approach or get close to residents, especially in elevators. I've seen pet urine and feces in the elevators as well as floor lobbies. I've seen trash not put in the trash rooms and just a complete lack of cleanliness in this community. Amenities lack compared to other newer developments going up in the area, including 2 newer buildings (1 already built and another being built in 2024). This building is aging and it shows from the lack of renovations and overall care and attention to the type residents who are unfortunately moving in, age and socioeconomic. This community needs a new refresh look and renovation to many amenities and features in it. I would recommend future residents to look at a community which is more mature and professional. This place resembles more a dormitory than professional residential apartment community.
