I liked The Lincoln a lot until the riots and looters destroyed the nearby downtown area. I also felt like the area was much less safe. But for the change in the immediate area, I'd still be living at The Lincoln. So, The Lincoln can't help what is becoming of downtown Raleigh. The Lincoln is located on the outer fringe of 'safe' areas of Raleigh, which is why the rent is lower than most areas in downtown Raleigh. This isn't a criticism as I did appreciate the downtown living experience at a slightly lower rent than other nearby apartments. Unfortunately, 95% of the things to do near The Lincoln are presently out of commission and / or boarded up. I really don't think this part of Raleigh is coming back soon. Hearing gun shots and rising crime in the immediate area was a new and unwanted experience. Because of the current political climate, I think the police have practically stopped patrolling in the area. My last week of living in downtown Raleigh, I decided to give downtown a last walk through. The 'vibe' is very different, and I felt like I was unwanted in the city. So, I am glad I left. I'd give the general apartment complex a 4 out of 5 stars (before the riots). The management team was responsive and friendly. The common areas could use some tidying up as the carpet is atrocious. The two-room approach for package delivery is sub-optimal, and the delivery drivers never seem to figure it out. I had so many problems getting my packages, it was almost unbelievable.
