Resident 2018 - 2019

10/1/2019

I have had the displeasure of living here for two years. Upon move in, there were paint splatters on the floor from a messy paint job, a significant piece of carpet was entirely missing, our washer hose was disconnected, and our dishwasher was falling out of it's place in the cabinetry. DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE MODEL HOME. It looks great, in stark contrast to the place you will actually live. The kitchen appliances are from a time before the industrial revolution. There is NO counter space at all. If you enjoy cooking, this is not the place to live. I often have to park a street or two away from my own home because the staff does nothing to regulate who parks where. We have to use our own means of pest control because there are cockroaches, worms, and centipede-like creatures crawling around the house no matter the season, and the "sprays" that they conduct do absolutely nothing. The maintenance crew replaces things with the wrong parts. My roommates and I have had to self-fix things that maintenance won't address. The office staff doesn't really seem like they know what's going on. They tried charging me $20 to replace my light bulbs, when a light bulb is about $2 at the store. This place will not get a single cent more than the rent I pay. The style of the house and location are the only good things about this place. It is spacious (excluding the kitchen which has no cabinet space or counter space), and it is a mile from the grocery store, a few miles from a shopping center in Cary, really close to centennial campus and city bus stops. The only reason I signed the lease for a second time was because the location worked for my roommates and I, it was close to my work, close to the grocery store and it meant I didn't have to uproot my stuff to move somewhere else. It had nothing to do with the quality of the apartment. These circus clowns are apparently known for charging residents upon move out for absolutely nothing, and boy I can't wait to have that discussion in July.
