Resident 2012 - 2016

3/16/2017

I moved to Windermere in December 2012 and had no major problems. I loved the location and not being far from the mall and there are several supermarkets close by. The appliances are quite old and it took me at least 2 hrs to dry a small load of clothes (nothing heavy like jeans or large towels). The only thing maintenance did was clean out the vent but that didn't help much. Be prepared for a high energy bill during the winter since the units are not well insulated. I once placed an urgent work order to have the toilet floater arm replaced since it had completely rusted to the point of it breaking in half. It still took maintenance 3 days to come out and replace it. I've also had submitted several work orders for the refrigerator which either leaked or froze some of my food in the bottom of the fridge. It was pretty quiet on the property before nosier neighbors moved in. This place was an upgrade compared to my 1st apartment but I have seen quite a few water bugs and saw one fly from my counter to the door!. My 1st rent increase was $75 which was a major jump but I did not make plans to move at the time. I would have been paying $200 more for rent compared to when I first moved if I renewed last time. Overall the property is not bad but could use some renovations and replacing the old appliances. Please beware you will receive a bill for electricity once you move out. Mine for over $100 dollars and the apartment was not occupied for 14 days after I moved out. Neither Windemere or NWP could give a direct break down of how the electricity is calculated from your move out date. Both will feed you the same line "per your leasing agreement you are responsible...". Supposedly they bill a different rate than Duke Progress energy.

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. I apologize if you have experienced some maintenance issues in your home. My team and I strive to address all service requests as quickly as possible and do our best to fix it right the first time. As for the final electric bill, it based off the actual usage provided by Duke Progress Energy plus any fees. Thank you Tyrus.
