Fourth Creek Landing
Resident · 2008 - 2010
Fourth Creek Landing is literally the best apartment community I've ever lived in. I lived there for two years, and when I recently had to move to another city for work, I wondered if I could pack the whole place up and take it with me. STAFF The staff is exceptionally friendly, and they have been quick to act on any maintenance request I've had. The office manager is very kind and professional. During my lease she introduced me to a couple new friends, when they first moved into the apartment complex. In addition she made move-in and move-out easy. LOCATION The apartments are located on Hwy 21 in Statesville, NC. The road that leads to the complex is set back from the main road far enough that you don't hear traffic noise, but you are close enough to several "creature comforts". You are 1 minute to fast food and restaurants, 3-5 minutes to Interstate 40 and 77, and 3 minutes to Walmart and other grocery stores. Also Zx Fitness (gym) is 1 minute away, too. COMPLEX The landscaping at the complex is wooded, which makes it seem more secluded from the rest of town than the other communities that I've visited. The "neighborhood" has always seemed very safe - people walking their dogs or just taking a stroll. The pool at the main building is convenient, though it can get somewhat crowded on the weekends (as most pools do). Several of the tenants have resided there for a long time, which speaks highly of the community and management. APARTMENT I lived in a 2 bed, 1 bath - it was roomy, and in good condition. The carpet and flooring were a few years old, but may already have been replaced in the remaining units. FYI - the cable TV is only about $48 per month and includes regular local channels, HBO, Encore, ESPN, Movie channels, HGTV, Discovery & Travel Channel, plus a bunch of others. THE (FEW) NEGATIVES TO CONSIDER If you are moving into the 2 bed, 1 bath be sure to carefully measure before trying to get your couch in the front door. It's extremely difficult. Also, if you have neighbors who smoke inside their apartment, note that sometimes you can smell the cigarette smoke in the bathroom (because it's coming through the ventilation fan). Last, if you are trying to get a pizza delivered or are having friends come visit, be prepared to give very detailed directions or stand outside - the complex is like a labyrinth towards the back, and can be confusing to visitors. Overall I would definitely highly recommend Fourth Creek Landing to anyone looking to live in Statesville, NC. My friends tell me that their apartment communities in the same town are managed poorly. While this complex may be a few dollars more per month than the "dirt cheap" competitors, it's worth it. Seriously.
