nice place but full of hassles and inconveniences

I have lived in the Nissen building for two years now and like everyone will tell you, its nice, the people are nice, downtown is great... blah blah blah. However, no one ever mentions the fact that u have to park on the street and use a grocery cart to get your groceries in the building, that you have to pay extra for a place to park or you have to pay parking tickets... your choice. The thermostats are ALL KINDS OF MESSED UP, you can hear anything and everything your neighbors are doing or speaking about from the hall way (and the reverse if you are in your apartment and they are in the hall.) IT IS INCREDIBLY OVERPRICED for the square-footage you are getting, the "pool" on the roof is a glorified bathtub (not exaggerating), and you will waste a fortune in heating and air conditioning because the windows are 6 foot tall and VERY BADLY INSULATED! Now, all that said, it is a very nice building, full of history and beauty; the people and staff are friendly and polite, there a good restaurants within walking distance, and you can enjoy evenings on the roof. I wanted to write this review for all those people out there that have lived in apartments before and know what matters when looking at value and making decisions about where to rent. Its nice to live in a nice building but I think given the chance to change I would have picked a place with more efficiency and function instead of fashion and popularity.
