Resident 2005 - 2007

Run away!

During my time at this apartment, I have experienced the following problems:
- A supposedly self-defrost refrigerator that was not self-defrost. It eventually stopped working and it took maintenance four separate tries (all of which food spoiled in) before we were finally "approved" for a new refrigerator.
- A toilet that barely flushes and makes a hideous noise every time.
- Lack of parking, many times having to park around other sides of buildings because of other people having parties where their friends take up our spots.
- The grounds maintenance picks up trash on the ground only to put some of it on our banister of our porch. I assume he does this as a point trying to tell us not to litter. Funny thing is that we don't litter, so other people's junk is being left on our porch such as tongs for a grill that someone threw overboard, remnants of a hot dog, and a crushed pop can to name a few.
- Speaking of grounds maintenance, it takes days for someone to finally pick up a shovel to shovel walkways. In fact, I almost fell on my face a few days ago from the sheet of ice that was in the lot. Nice sanding job guys!!
- The thermostat mysteriously resets itself to 74 degrees. This is really bad in winter, as with the apartment being heated with gas, my bills have skyrocketed. (In case you're wondering, I have it set to 69). It's also bad in the summer because I leave it at 78 then.
- While we were out of town for Christmas, my boyfriend's vehicle was knived 13 times (rag-top).
- We have a gas grill on our porch and have come home once to smelling gas and found that someone had turned our knob to ON and was leaking our propane. After that, we started shutting off the supply at the tank, but still came home to finding our grill knobs turned to ON.
- Ant infestation on several occasions (kitchen, main bath, and both bedrooms). Need I say more?
- Last, but certainly not least, when we put in our 30-day notice to vacate on the 20th of the month, we are told we have to pay the entire month's rent or we won't get our security deposit back. So, let me get this straight, on a $730 monthly lease, I'm expecting to pay $410 for 20 days and am told that unless I fork it over, I will be sent to collections. And when I bring up the past issues, all I get is an insincere apology.

I see where being a good tenant, not complaining, and paying rent on time gets you - JACK. Make no mistake Pointe Management Company - you have woke a sleeping dragon.
