Hi, I just moved out last month 1/17 and would like to give an honest review of the apartments. Pros: - very clean when we moved in - modern and fairly new carpet and appliances - not too expensive compared to other apartments in the area - don't have to pay for water, heat, or trash (this is crucial as our heat was always running due to poor insulation, we lived on the 3rd floor and our windows would buildup ice on the inside of them in the winter and then our window sills would have water sitting on them when it finally melted) - all of our appliances worked well (and when there were problems, maintenance fixed it promptly) Cons: - someone got into our apartment while we were there and the office wasn't sure if it was because they accidentally gave them our spare keys or if our lock was so dulled down that that person's key just happened to work. After I called maintenance they came and changed it that night, but when I took the issue up with the manager, Heidi, she seemed very insincere with her apology and didn't offer any type of help when I told her that it was not comforting to know that a person had our keys. I asked how long they had keys to our apartment (so I would know if there was a possibility that person had already been in there, as the man had multiple empty boxes with him when he opened our door) and that took some harsh convincing as she originally told me that was private and she couldn't tell me. -when it came time to move out, they were very nickel and dime like and not helpful in the move out process. When I asked about the overall move out process, as this was my first apartment, they were very brief and as a result I had extra charges that they did not warn me about. I also went in to give my 30 day notice and asked the lady how to go about turning cable off, she said call the cable company, when I called them they said to tell the apartment complex to turn it off. The blacksand employee told me that she would have it taken care of on Monday (this was a Saturday) and it clearly did not get taken care of as I was billed another month and when I called, there was nothing they could do because there was no proof. SO GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING. -bad quality windows Overall, I would say these apartments were pretty nice, but if you run into a problem don't expect to be treated with friendliness from the staff.
