Toxic New Management

I signed a terrific 6 month lease with the old management group under the pretense that Kabredlo's Property would be taking over and really helping to clean the property up. I will give them credit in that the overall outside appearance of the complex has been improved to a large degree with a new basketball court, landscaping and a redo of the clubhouse. The problem is the new ownership forgot to improve their relationships with the current tenants. I had significant problems with insects (crickets, spiders) that I was told would be corrected, but yet never was. There still isn't controlled access which could be tough for some possible tenants. And considering the drug deals I witnessed going on, it may become necessary. Management recently increased rental prices putting them in the higher caption of 1 bedroom/bath apartments in the area while the quality of the apartments remains nearer the lower half. This makes no sense to me as at least a quarter of the apartments remain unoccupied. Not the most sound of business decision. I wanted to renew my lease and continue living there, but I was not allowed to talk to the property manager to negotiate or even ask questions. I was forced to talk to the largely useless office help during the 2 hours a day they actually sit in the office. The noise and other neighbors were not a problem as I had a nice group of people living around me. Although I could clearly hear the neighbor above me peeing, which seems really odd. The loudest sound outside was always the apparent colony of crickets that lives in the complex, over half of which found their way into my apartment. Do not let them tell you that you will get free basic cable. The old management group gave you free cable, Kabredlo's includes it in your rental price. It's quite clear Kabredlo's Property is making attempts to "clean up" the complex by making aesthetic improvements which gives them reason to raise rent in order to force the lower income folks there out. But in reality they're pricing out people like me who always make rent payments on time, always are employed and are good citizens but need a reasonably priced place to live as we get our careers started. Shame on them for that. Do yourself a favor and call any of the other apartment complexes in the area where you can find a 1 bed/bath for at least 20-50 dollars LESS in rent per month. DO NOT RENT FROM KABREDLO'S.
