I have lived at Thomasbrook for almost a year in one of the 2 newer buildings. It seemed so nice when I moved in, I don't know if I had false expectations or if I'm being too picky, but now that I've lived here for a little while it doesn't seem so nice. First of all, the lighting in the parking lot in horrendous. My car got broken into when I parked on the side that was not closest the apartment building. The sauna hasn't worked the whole time I've lived here. The tanning beds cost $1 for 10 minutes with old old bulbs so you have to pay $3 for half an hour and halfway decent tanning session. The carpet looked new and nice when I moved in, but after actually walking on it and vacuuming it a couple of times it looks very ratty. The walls/doors are so thin that you literally hear EVERYTHING in the hallway and some of what's going on in people's apartments. Also, when I moved in cable was included, but in December all of the apartments had a note left on the doors stating that cable service would no longer be provided after the lease expired. My lease was valid, however, in January my cable got shut off. I had to call 3 times and deal with a very unaccomadating office girl who simply told me that it wasn't her fault my cable got shut off and that I would have to call the cable company myself. Very annoying, especially since it WAS her fault, either her or someone else doing her job. The owner/manager is not much better, ALWAYS parks his Yukon in the same place so it takes up 3 spaces and is very quick to remind you that he owns the whole building. What is it about these people that think just because they rent to people that they are somehow better than them? Renting in Lincoln is a nightmare, I've had worse, but not much better.
