It's been 8 months since I moved into Autumn Grove, and I couldn't be happier with the complex. I initially shied away because of the negative reviews posted on this site. The manager told me they were left by a 'disgruntled employee'. I don't know if that was a line or not, but I can say that I haven't had any of the problems that person was complaining about. I knew this complex was going to be good the day I visited to look at apartments, right after the third major snowfall of the season. Their rental agent knew I was coming in from out of town to apartment hunt, and even though his boss had told him he could take the day off, he met me anyway (one of the ONLY managers that did so that day). As for the snow removal services, I haven't been through that yet this season, but that day I was quite impressed with the cleared driveways around the complex. Management has since continued to impress, taking care of problems almost the second the phone call is made. I have yet to ask twice for anything to be repaired. The day I needed to call the off-hours emergency phone number, someone got back to me within 10 minutes.

The apartments themselves are on the higher end of the rent scale, but I believe that is because they are so new (4 years old and absolutely gorgeous) and they do have a lot of extras. I have found the units to be well insulated, and my heating and cooling bills have been very reasonable. If you don't have a washer and dryer, you can rent them from the complex, and I've found them to be pretty decent (all the appliances are Whirlpool). This is one of the few complexes in town that allows dogs in the apartments but other than noticing a number of residents walking their dogs mornings and evenings, you wouldn't know it (ie no barking dogs and no little 'souvenirs' left around the property).

The noise in general is low, although if your floorplan has a bedroom next to the stairwell, you will probably hear people going up and down the stairs. Each building is gated, and the gate is not on a compressed-air hinge, which means it makes one heck of a noise if people don't take the time to close it gently. I am on the 2nd floor and haven't noticed too much noise from the apartment above. Noise from the neighbors on my floor has been nonexistent.

The bug complaints of the previous poster were exaggerated. I have found a few spiders now and then, maybe half a dozen since I moved in, but that's it. Parking is also not a problem. There are plenty of places to park if you don't have a garage. The only negatives I can say about the complex are rather trivial. Other posters have commented on the outside evening lighting - yes, it's *that* bright. It makes for a secure walk to the car but it can get annoying at times. Also, although the office does accept packages, they will not notify you if you have one. They close at 5 most days but are open on weekends, so worst case scenario is you have to wait a few days.

All in all, I find Autumn Grove to be a very pleasant place to live. If you're looking for a nice apartment with efficient management, you really need to take a look.
