Resident ā€¢ 2013

3/8/2013

A year ago I arrived in Omaha and searched for a place downtown to live. I viewed a majority of the buildings with publized lofts in the area. This is what I've found, over-priced, hyped-up buildings with little to no benefits offered to renters. I did my research and read all the available views online and finally decided on L15 lofts. So, I'll tell you why...first off, there's a major difference between the rent of L15 and tje other buildings. I got more square footage for the price I'm paying then any other place around. Now, with this being said; there are always things that are good and bad about places you rent from. I'll start with the good. The price: no doubt about it this place is the best bang for your buck. The loft: if your looking a spacious area with newer cabinets and a trendy look - then this is the place. I've had a few maintenance issues over the last year, but the staff has been quick to contact me and have fixed the issues in a decent amount of time. Parking: if your willing to pay $50 bucks a month then you can have an assigned spot, so what's the problem. If your not willing, then first come first serve on the street. It's not bad, but you are living downtown and every single place will charge you for parking. The safety: the place has security cameras around all the common areas from what I can tell and it seems like every 5 minutes there's a cop car passing by the building - I'm not worried, but your living downtown, be smart and lock your door. I will tell you if want an additonal lock they will provide one and quickly install it. The laundry room: if you get a place without a washer/dryer there's one in the basement. I've never had to wait for a washer, but sometimes it takes 10 mins to get a dryer. No change machine, but on the ground level there's a soda machine that gives you change back without a purchase. The noise: not going to lie, the walls are thin. But remember, your paying significantly less than the other places around you. I was able to counteract the noise by leaving my loft air on and it pretty much drowns everything out. I should also mention there's a gym and lounge. The gym has a two treadmills, free weights, and some multi-use exercise machine. I've used it a couple times, and it's okay. There's also a 24hour fitness two blocks down the road. As for the lounge; it has a few tables, couches, and a tv with cable. Not many people use it, so if your looking for a place where you can have a group of people it should be no problem. The L15 staff: when I got here over a year ago the staff was just okay. I've noticed major improvements within the last six months. They've been quick to respond to any concerns I might have and have taken care of all my maintenance issues. I honestly believe their doing a good job and you'll be more than satisfied with how they take care of you. Overall I would recommend this place to anyone looking to live downtown. It's a five minute walk to the Old Market. The lofts are large and spacious, and I'm not being cheap here, but it's the best deal around. When you live in Omaha you can spend a lesser amount to live in a nice building surrounded by homes with nothing near or close to you or you can live downtown in walking distance to restraunts and bars and things to do. Also, this is one of the only places around where you can have pets. Lastly, if you made it this far into this review than I appologize profusely for any spelling, grammar, punctuation errors - there's no spell check and I don't have the energy to fix the countless errors. Hopefully, this review helps.
