Resident 2002 - 2003

10/10/2003

I strongly recommend that anyone who even thinks of renting from this place needs to read this reveiw. On October 8th, 2003 My wife found a letter on both of my vehicles in the parking lot. They explained that there was no room for broken down vehicles and that they would be towed on October 10th, 2003. I took off work the very next day to take care of the problem. During the hours of 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, I spent that time trying to find a set of tow dollys to correct the problem. When I returned to my apartment, I noticed that my vehicle was towed a day early.(October 9th) I called the office only to get grief about the situation from a manager by the name of ------------. She said that "it was fortunate for her that the wrecker service was in the area" so she told them to go ahead and tow it. Not only did she degrade my personal property but she had to say how fortunate it was for her. In turn meaning that it was unfortunate for me. She also had the maintnance man come from the office and OPEN my other vehicle to hide another letter saying that she was having it towed on October 9th. Completely overturning the letter that was left on the vehicles the day before. I know that the office had something to do with these letters being INSIDE my vehicles because I watched them do it myself. When the office was confronted about this matter they played stupid by saying that she thought it was the maintnance mans car. Now, why would a maintnance man put a towing letter in his own car? The maintnance man was confronted and he said "I had nothing to do with it. It was Laurel Ridge!" He knew that he was in the wrong. Also when I got to the wrecker service, there was a note on my vehicle saying that it would be towed October 9th. I know for a fact that it was not on the vehicle when they towed it because I saw the vehicle being towed. Also it was raining that day and the letter was not wet! I know they went up to the wrecker service and put that letter on the car because the man who towed the vehicle said they did. Not only did they tow the vehicle a day befor the deadline, they also have been harrassing my wife. Everyday that we come home there is a discouraging letter on the door. They want to charge an additional $80.00 for the month to month rent. When I told them about what their Lease Agreement says, They said that they only need a thirty day notice to raise our rent. My wife brought a copy of the lease to them and highlighted a sentence saying that Management may increase the rent but it has to be in a written notice 45 days prior to charging. ----- said that she only needed 30 days and she was proven wrong. Not only that but she also said that she gave us a written letter at the beginning of September and there was no notice. Even if there was, it has only been 39 days and they are already putting her in collections! What happen to the 45 days that their lease said they have to give? Bottom line, I wouldn´t recommend this place to the worst prisoners in the world!!! They are sloppy and they try to bully people into paying their fees that in no way will hold up in a court of law. They didn´t even tell us about the apartment we rented was in that big fire the year before. Nothing in that apartment worked right. The toilet would clog just for flushing a nose tissue. The electric would fade in and out for all hours of the night. The hot water wasn´t enough to fill up the sink. The dishwasher would leak on the carpet. The place sounded like a nightclub at 4:00 AM. The neighborhood kids would constantly grab theirselves when a good looking women comes by. The pool was a death trap. You couldn´t swim without worrying about the bricks on the side of the pool falling on your head. Also whenever you do go to the pool it felt like your in the middle of a gang war! No security to keep the people who didn´t live there out. The place is a JOKE!!! We were never late on our rent. We were never treated bad until we sent in our 30 day notice by certified mail. We are pushing for the lawsuit that our attorney suggests.
