          Do not recommend for anyone. Apartments are grungy, management is terrible. They do not return security deposits; they find every reason not to.                                         What about a person who promises in writing to stay for year and then leaves after four months. and if this person is given a month free rent because they promised to stay a year, should that person not give it back if they break the lease. That was a horribly untrue and unwarrented thing to have said about Cheney Company and Blackhawke. These are not faceless corporations, but honest hardworking family members and employees who fulfilled every promise they made to you. Also if you are going to call someone a thief, have the strength of charactor to sign your name and not hide behind "anonymous"

                                          Thank you for your posting. We appreciate your positive feedback as well as your honest opinion of some areas where we might be lacking. I do agree it would be wonderful if we could supply washer/dryer hook-ups in more of our apartments. All new buildings that we have built (sorry, we did not build your current apartment building) have come with washers and dryers or hook-ups. We are also looking into ways to incorporate laundry centers in other apartment communities. The laundry area at Maple St has just recently been completed. Unfortunately most of our buildings are older and not designed to accommodate hook-ups in each apartment. The problem you have experienced with the mold is baffling as there doesn't appear to be a good reason for it. We may need to remove part of the ceiling and wall in your bathroom to see if there is a leak somewhere - didn't want to disrupt you to complete this project, so decided to wait until the apartment was empty to tear the bathroom apart. As for our maintenance personnel bringing the smell of cigarette smoke into your apartment, that should not happen. This issue has been addressed and should no longer happen. We apologize for that and do appreciate you bringing that to our attention. Pet fees? Wish we didn't have to charge them. However, there are so many costs that folks don't realize in regards to provding homes to pets, many not billable directly to an individual pet owner. Some damages are not discovered right away like cat urine in a carpet or fleas in hallways (and don't even get me started on landscaping costs due to irresponsible pet owners who don't pick up after thier dogs). We will do our best to keep our pet fees at a minimum. Again we do appreciate your comments. We are pleased that you are continuing to live with us at a new community. PS: We do allow transfers within our apartment communities, either to a larger or smaller apartment, more expensive or less expensive depending on our resident's needs at no additional fee or penalty. We're not such bad folks to rent from, just call us, we'll always try to make things right.

                                            Yes, these residents are expected to pay the full month as their lease contract ends 6/28. When you sign a contract to buy a car, you are typically expected to make 60 months worth of payments. You can't decide after 47 months that you are done with the car, park it on the side of the road, walk away and stop making payments.

                                              Forgive us if we repeat ourselves here, but sometimes things have to be repeated for the message to sink in to some folks heads. So, you think the apartment with its 2 bedrooms, 2 full baths, a den, a large storage area, secure entry to the building, washer/dryer hookup, large living room with deck overlooking the wilderness, large fully applianced kitchen is worth the $1,195, it is the people that aren't? Not sure if you are referring to the management or other residents but no, the customer is not always right. Not when they have a lease contract that states that dog owners will pick up after their dogs, will keep them on leashes and will not let them disturb the neighbors. Oh, and these happen to be laws as well. So we do not allow residents, dog owners, to do as they please! We will let dog owners live in our buildings. They just have to be responsible dog owners! Irresponsible dog owners should use their heads and then maybe responsible dog owners, and other residents, would not have to suffer the repercussions. Being allowed to have a dog in your apartment is a privilege. And we will continue to ask you to move your car when it snows. Otherwise, there would be cars sliding into each other, not to mention people slipping and falling and neither is something we will allow to happen. If you plan on hibernating in your apartment until spring comes and the snow melts, please just call us and we will direct you where to park your car so it will not affect our snow removal. Otherwise, please continue to do as required in your lease and move your car for snow removal. We appreciate your cooperation in this effort.
